Stadium information
Name:
Estádio António Coimbra da Mota
Capacity:
8,000
Address:
Rua Dom Bosco, 2765-211 Estoril, Cascais, Portugal
Description:
The Estádio António Coimbra da Mota is the home of G.D. Estoril Praia. It sits in Estoril, in the municipality of Cascais, close to the coast west of Lisbon. The ground holds around 8,000 spectators, which makes it one of the smaller stadiums in the Primeira Liga. It is named after António Coimbra da Mota, a former president of the club. The stadium also hosts Estoril's reserve team and has been used for Portuguese youth international games and the under-21 side. The Sweden national team trained here while preparing for UEFA Euro 2004, and the ground has even staged Portugal rugby union internationals. It is a compact, old-school stadium where the fans sit close to the field, so the atmosphere can build up fast on a good day. Some of those fans can book their Estoril Praia tickets through our secure booking system.
Best way to travel to Estádio António Coimbra da Mota
Once you've booked your Estoril Praia tickets, it's time to figure out how to get to the stadium. The club advises everyone to take public transportation. Here are the options you can use to reach the stadium.
By Train
The train is the easiest way to reach the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota. The Cascais railway line runs along the coast from Lisbon's Cais do Sodré station all the way to Cascais. Get off at Estoril station, which sits right by the seafront, and the stadium is a short walk inland from there. The trains run often and the ride hugs the Atlantic coast the whole way. Follow the fans off the train at Estoril and you won't get lost.
By Bus
Several local bus routes run through Estoril and Cascais and stop near the stadium. The buses link Estoril with Cascais, Sintra and the surrounding towns. The train is the faster option for most fans coming from Lisbon, but the buses are handy if you're staying somewhere along the coast or up toward Sintra.
By Car
The A5 highway connects Lisbon with Cascais and runs close to Estoril, and the coastal road, the Avenida Marginal, also brings you into the town. There is some parking around the area, but the streets are narrow and space fills up fast on game day, so the club recommends public transportation.
By Bicycle
Cycling to the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota is easier than you think. It's a quick, healthy way to make your trip and saves you a lot of money. There is a long cycle path along the coast between Cascais and Lisbon. On a bike you have all the freedom you need — you can get past traffic jams and avoid crowded public transportation.
Estádio António Coimbra da Mota guide
The Estádio António Coimbra da Mota is one of the smaller grounds in the Primeira Liga. Its 8,000 seats are often busy for the big games. That's where we come in — we've got you covered with tickets for every single Estoril Praia game. To keep things simple we split it into four sections: the South Stand, the North Stand, the East Stand and the West Stand.
South Stand
The South Stand is home to Estoril Praia's most vocal fans. This is where the club's main ultras and the loudest fans sit. It is the end behind one of the goals. The South Stand is known for the loudest atmosphere in the stadium. If you want to experience real Portuguese soccer, look for South Stand tickets. Whenever Estoril play toward this goal, you'll get that authentic Estoril Praia feeling.
North Stand
On the opposite side of the South Stand you'll find the North Stand. This stand is behind the other goal. This is also where the away fans sit, in a corner of the North Stand. So if you're following your team to Estoril, this is the place to look for. Don't forget to select the "away end" or away section when booking. The rest of the North Stand holds home fans. Especially during the big games, you'll feel the tension and rivalry in the North Stand.
East Stand
Along the side of the field you'll find the East Stand. This stand offers good sightlines across the whole field. The stand runs along the full length of the field. You get a clear view of the game from the side. The East Stand is a good pick for your first Estoril Praia game. It's a bit more about the view and a bit less about the noise. But you know for sure you'll see everything.
West Stand
It's no surprise that this stand sits on the opposite side from the East Stand. The West Stand is the main stand. It is located on the side of the dugouts, which gives you a little something extra: you can hear the managers shouting and watch the players warm up from up close. This stand also holds the hospitality area and the best seats in the house, so it's a bit more about the comfort and a bit less about the noise. But you know for sure you'll have a great view.
Which stand should you choose?
It's important to make the best decision when booking your Estoril Praia tickets. That's why we've created this table with a quick comparison of all four stands. Check what matters to you and you'll find the best stand for your needs.
| Priority | Best Stand | Why |

Other information
Grupo Desportivo Estoril Praia was founded on May 17, 1939 in Estoril, in the municipality of Cascais near Lisbon. The club is nicknamed "os Canarinhos" (the Canaries) and plays in yellow and blue. The colors come from the town's beaches, the yellow for the sun and the blue for the Atlantic Ocean. Estoril have spent much of their history moving between the top flight and the second tier. The club's best-ever Primeira Liga finish is fourth place, reached in the 2013–14 season, which also took them into the UEFA Europa League group stage. Since 2019 the club has been majority owned by American investor David Blitzer, with Rui Costa as president. Scottish coach Ian Cathro, who led the team to eighth in 2024–25 and tenth in 2025–26, left for French club Saint-Étienne in June 2026.
American influences
Estoril Praia has a genuine and direct American connection at the very top of the club. Since 2019 the majority owner has been David Blitzer, a US investor who is co-owner of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL's New Jersey Devils and runs a portfolio of clubs through Global Football Holdings. Under his ownership Estoril has leaned into player development and infrastructure, treating the club as part of a wider multi-club network. On the field the squad is built mainly from Portuguese and Brazilian players rather than Americans, so there is no established US international at the club right now. For fans in the United States, the easiest way to follow Estoril is on television: GOLTV holds the US rights to Liga Portugal and carries games through streaming services such as Fanatiz and Fubo. That reach matters most to the large Portuguese-American community in the Northeast and California, which follows the league closely.

Rivalries
Main Rivals
Regional rivalries on the Lisbon coast
Estoril Praia do not have a single fierce, famous rivalry like the bigger Portuguese clubs do. As a club from Estoril and Cascais, the games that mean the most to their fans tend to be the games against other clubs from the Lisbon area. These are the local games where the fans care that little bit more, even if the wider soccer world doesn't always notice.
The big clubs
Games against the Big Three
Like every smaller Primeira Liga club, Estoril's biggest games are the visits of the country's giants. When Benfica, Porto or Sporting CP come to the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota, the small ground fills up and the away support is large. These are not rivalries in the traditional sense, but they are the games most fans look out for on the schedule.
