Stadium information
Name:
Snapdragon Stadium
Capacity:
35,000
Address:
2101 Stadium Way, San Diego, CA 92108, USA
Description:
Snapdragon Stadium opened in 2022 in the Mission Valley neighborhood, on the site once occupied by the old San Diego Chargers stadium, and since 2025 it's been the home of San Diego FC. It's a modern multi-purpose venue, which it shares with San Diego State University's American football team. What's more, the city's climate is one of the most pleasant in the United States, which makes attending a game here especially comfortable throughout the season.
The best way to get to Snapdragon Stadium
Once you have your tickets for a San Diego game, you'll need to figure out how to get to the stadium. Here are a few options to help you decide which one suits you best.
By trolley
Stadium station, on the green line of the San Diego Trolley, is practically right at the venue's doorstep, connecting with downtown and Old Town in a journey of around 20 minutes, making it the most recommended option.
By car
Access to the stadium from the highways is direct, making it the most used option for fans coming from other parts of the city or the state. That said, it's worth leaving some extra time to avoid traffic for the highest-attendance games. The venue has plenty of parking around it, although almost all of it requires an online booking in advance.
By bike
Mission Valley has bike lanes connecting the stadium with the rest of the city, as well as with the path that runs alongside the San Diego River.
Snapdragon Stadium guide
Snapdragon Stadium is one of the newest stadiums in MLS and its compact design means practically no seat is far from the field, with good visibility from any zone. That's where we come in, since we have tickets for every San Diego game. The stadium is divided into four zones: the West and East Stands and the North and South Ends.
West Stand
This is the stadium's main stand, located behind the benches. This sector houses the press box, as well as most of the premium suites. Being one of the side stands, it has the best visibility of the entire field. What's more, this sector has an upper concourse where most of the tickets are sold, since the lower level is usually reserved for access to the suites.
East Stand
Being the other side stand, it offers the same quality of visibility, but at a slightly lower price. While the central area is also a premium zone, the rest of this stand is open to the general public, and combined with the fact that from the upper part you can see the hills of Mission Valley, it's a great choice for anyone visiting the stadium for the first time.
North End
This is the end designated as the club's official supporters' section, known as the Supporters Section, spanning sections 136 to 140. That's why it's the loudest zone in the stadium, with chanting for much of the game.
South End
This is the opposite end, with a much calmer, family-friendly atmosphere. Tickets in this sector are more affordable than those in the side stands, and since it isn't a very large stadium, visibility of the whole field is very good.
Which zone should you choose?
So you can make the best decision when buying your San Diego tickets, we've put together this short table comparing the options according to your preferences, so you can choose the zone that best suits what you're looking for and enjoy your experience to the fullest.
| Priority | Best zone | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Best atmosphere | North End | It's a standing stand, right alongside the supporters' group, with chanting throughout the whole game |
| Best visibility | Side stands | As in any stadium, the side stands offer a better view of the whole field |
| First visit | East Stand | It's the sector with the best balance between price, atmosphere and visibility |
| Families with children | South End or East Stand | Both zones offer a more relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere while still being close to the field, without giving up excellent amenities |
| Tight budget | South End or upper side stands | The South End is the sector with the most affordable tickets. As are the areas near the edges in the upper part of both side stands |
| Maximum comfort and exclusivity | West Stand | This sector houses the premium areas, with the stadium's best amenities |
San Diego FC information
Current coach:
Mikey Varas
Current captain:
Jeppe Tverskov
Position in MLS last season:
1st Western Conference. Eliminated in the Conference final
Other information
San Diego FC made its MLS debut in 2025 as the league's 30th franchise, in a city that had spent years calling for a soccer team. Businessman Mohamed Mansour and the Sycuan tribe of the Kumeyaay Nation, the first Indigenous community to hold ownership of a professional sports club in the United States, are the driving forces behind the project, which gives meaning to the design of its crest, lending the team its visual identity.
Its most distinctive trait is its connection to Mexico, since San Diego sits right up against the border with Tijuana, and the club has built its sporting and social project around that binational reality. Its academy scouts talent in both countries, and among its fans Spanish is heard just as often as English.
San Diego FC honors
San Diego doesn't have any silverware in the cabinet yet, which is only logical for a club that made its MLS debut in 2025. Even so, as the best regular-season team in the Western Conference, their debut was one of the best campaigns any expansion side has ever put together in league history, falling only at the Conference final. Every summer they also compete in the Leagues Cup against Liga MX sides, games with a special flavour thanks to the closeness of the border. Tickets for San Diego games, from the most affordable to the most exclusive, are available on Livefootballtickets.com.
Rivalries
The California derby vs Los Angeles FC
The game that stirs up the biggest rivalry for San Diego is against Los Angeles FC, the club of the large neighboring city in Southern California, located just over two hours away by road. It's a clash that was born with great intensity, fuelled by the historic rivalry between the two cities.
