? Buy 2026-2027 MLS tickets online

Major League Soccer is thirty clubs spread across two countries and four time zones, playing a season that runs from February to December and ends with a knockout tournament rather than a trophy handed to whoever finishes on top. There is no relegation, there is a salary cap, and the biggest name in the sport plays in Miami. It is a league built on different rules from the European game, and knowing those rules is the difference between guessing at a ticket and knowing which game is worth the trip.

How to buy MLS tickets in 2026

Most MLS games are easier to get into than a European league fixture, but the ones people actually travel for are not: Inter Miami at home, El Tráfico in Los Angeles, a Cascadia Cup night in Portland or Seattle, and anything in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. LiveFootballTickets.com holds a real-time inventory of MLS tickets across all thirty clubs, including Inter Miami tickets, LA Galaxy tickets, Seattle Sounders tickets, Atlanta United tickets and Toronto FC tickets. Here is how it works:

  1. Select the game you want to attend and click 'View Tickets'.
  2. Select the area you would like to sit in on the right-hand side.
  3. Select the number of tickets you would like to purchase.
  4. Click on the green 'Buy' button.
  5. Complete the order form using your personal details.
  6. Don't forget to check that all your information is correct.
  7. Click 'Make Payment'.
  8. The tickets are now yours!

Major League Soccer tickets

MLS has grown from ten clubs in 1996 to thirty today, with San Diego FC the most recent addition. The 2026-2027 season runs from late February to Decision Day in November, followed by the playoffs. Every club plays 34 regular season games, 17 at home and 17 on the road, facing conference opponents twice and six clubs from the other conference once. We list tickets for all thirty clubs, home and away, and we take care of your booking so your tickets reach you in time for kickoff.

Why you should book your MLS tickets at Livefootballtickets.com

MLS ticketing has its own quirks. Season ticket members get first access, high-demand games move onto club waiting lists, and some clubs cap resale to their own official platform. If you are traveling in from outside North America, that combination can leave you without a route in for exactly the game you planned your trip around. As a marketplace we give you that route.

Trust

Trust is the first thing anyone weighs up when buying a ticket from a marketplace, so we put our guarantee in front of everything else. Every ticket sold through LiveFootballTickets.com comes with our 150% guarantee: if something unexpected happens with your order, you get a full refund plus 50% extra shop credit. Sellers on our platform are vetted before they can list, and prices are set by those sellers in competition with each other.

We have been asking customers about their experience for twenty years, and we have now passed 20,000 reviews on Trustpilot with a score of 4.7 out of 5. The qualities customers mention most often are:

  • Positive interactions with customer service
  • Happy with the ordering process
  • Speed of ticket delivery
  • Positive experience with the seating

You can read all of our reviews on our Trustpilot profile.

24/7 available

MLS spans four time zones and a country the width of a continent, and kickoff times run from Saturday afternoon on the east coast to late Sunday night out west. Our customer service team is available around the clock, so wherever you are booking from and whatever time your game starts, there is someone to talk to. For anyone booking from overseas, that also means the time difference is never a reason to wait until morning for an answer.

Wide range of MLS tickets available

At the moment you're reading this we have 15 MLS tickets available across 5 upcoming events, covering all thirty clubs and both conferences. Our sellers restock constantly, so if the game or the section you want is not listed today, come back in a few days and the inventory will have moved.

Experience

We have been selling soccer tickets since 2006 and we have followed MLS through its entire modern expansion, from a ten-club league to thirty. Colleagues across every department have been with us for more than fifteen years, which matters on the games where the details get complicated: playoff matchups confirmed on short notice, opponents moving a high-demand game into a much larger stadium, and clubs that run their own resale rules.

MLS stadiums 2026-2027

MLS is unusual in that most of its clubs built their own venues. Twenty-two of the thirty stadiums are soccer-specific, generally seating between 18,000 and 30,000, while a handful of clubs share far larger NFL venues and tarp off the upper decks. Below are all thirty 2026-2027 MLS stadiums with their MLS configuration capacity.

MLS rivalries and the games worth traveling for

MLS has no relegation and no Big Six, so the games that sell out are not decided by the standings. They are decided by geography, by history, and lately by one player. These are the matchups to plan a trip around.

Inter Miami and Lionel Messi

Since Messi arrived in 2023, Inter Miami have become the biggest draw in North American soccer. He won the Golden Boot with 29 goals in 2025 and captained the club to its first MLS Cup, beating Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1. In April 2026 the club moved into Miami Freedom Park, a purpose-built 26,700-seat venue in Grapeland Heights, after six seasons at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. Road games are a phenomenon of their own: opponents regularly move Miami games into much larger stadiums, and the biggest crowd of the 2026 season came at a Colorado home game against them.

El Tráfico

Los Angeles FC against LA Galaxy is the newest of the great MLS rivalries and already the most watchable. Two clubs, one city, contrasting identities: the Galaxy with six MLS Cups and the Beckham era behind them, LAFC with a purpose-built venue in Exposition Park and a supporters' section that never sits down.

Cascadia Cup

Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps contest a trophy that predates all three clubs' MLS entry, and the atmosphere at these games is the closest MLS gets to a European road trip. Providence Park, built in 1926 and wedged into the city, is regularly named the best matchday in the league.

Hell is Real

Columbus Crew against FC Cincinnati, named after a roadside billboard on the highway between the two cities. Two of the strongest teams of recent seasons, and two of the best atmospheres in the Eastern Conference.

Other rivalries worth knowing

  • Hudson River Derby: New York City FC vs New York Red Bulls
  • Florida Derby: Inter Miami vs Orlando City
  • Texas Derby: FC Dallas vs Houston Dynamo
  • Canadian Classique: Toronto FC vs CF Montréal
  • Rocky Mountain Cup: Colorado Rapids vs Real Salt Lake
  • Atlantic Cup: D.C. United vs New York Red Bulls
  • Trillium Cup: Columbus Crew vs Toronto FC

MLS Cup winners

The LA Galaxy remain the most successful club in league history with six MLS Cups. D.C. United won four in the league's early years, Columbus Crew have three, and Houston Dynamo, San Jose Earthquakes, Sporting Kansas City and Seattle Sounders have two each. Inter Miami are the reigning champions after winning MLS Cup 2025.

MLS stars and legends

MLS has attracted three distinct waves of star: the European names who arrived at the end of their careers, the North American players who built their whole career in the league, and the young talent now being sold to Europe for real money.

The names that changed the league

  • David Beckham (LA Galaxy, 2007 to 2012), the signing that made MLS a destination, and now a co-owner of Inter Miami.
  • Thierry Henry (New York Red Bulls), four seasons in New Jersey after Arsenal and Barcelona.
  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic (LA Galaxy), 53 goals in 58 games and an El Tráfico debut that is still replayed.
  • Kaká (Orlando City), the club's first Designated Player and its first captain.
  • Lionel Messi (Inter Miami), the league's leading scorer in 2025 with 29 goals and the reason a generation of North American fans started watching.

The league's own

  • Landon Donovan (San Jose, LA Galaxy), six MLS Cups and the face of the league for a decade.
  • Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes), the all-time leading scorer in MLS regular season history.
  • Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake), the league's record appearance holder in goal.

A league that now sells

The direction of travel has reversed. Alphonso Davies left Vancouver for Bayern Munich, Miguel Almirón went from Atlanta to Newcastle, Brenden Aaronson and Mark McKenzie moved from Philadelphia to Europe, and Thiago Almada was sold from Atlanta after winning a World Cup. Watching an MLS game increasingly means watching a player who will be at a European club within two seasons.

About Major League Soccer

History

MLS was founded in 1993 and played its first season in 1996 with ten clubs. The early years were difficult: two Florida clubs folded after the 2001 season and the league dropped to ten teams. The turnaround came through soccer-specific stadiums, the arrival of David Beckham in 2007, and a run of expansion that has taken the league to thirty clubs, most recently San Diego FC in 2025.

How the league works

MLS is a single-entity league, which means the league itself contracts the players and the clubs operate as investors within it. In practice that produces a set of rules that look unusual next to European soccer:

  • No relegation. Finishing last costs you nothing but a season, and clubs enter the league by expansion rather than performance.
  • A salary budget. Every club works to the same cap, with a handful of exceptions.
  • Designated Players. Each club can sign up to three players outside the cap. The rule was introduced for Beckham in 2007 and is still known as the Beckham Rule.
  • Allocation money and Homegrown rules. Clubs trade cap space and draft picks in a way closer to other American sports than to European soccer.

The season and the playoffs

Each club plays 34 regular season games, ending on Decision Day in early November. The team with the best record across the whole league takes the Supporters' Shield, but the championship is decided in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, a knockout tournament running through November and December in which most of the league takes part. MLS Cup itself is hosted by the higher-seeded finalist rather than at a neutral site, which means the final venue is only confirmed a matter of days in advance.

The 2027 calendar change

MLS is moving to a summer-to-spring season. The 2026-2027 campaign is the last of the traditional February to December format. A short transition season runs from February to May 2027 with a 14-game regular season and a full playoff, and from mid-July 2027 the league begins its first summer-to-spring campaign, concluding with MLS Cup in late May 2028. There will be a winter break from mid-December to early February, with no games in January. The change aligns MLS with the international calendar and with the continental club competitions.

The 2026 World Cup

The 2026-2027 season was built around the World Cup on home soil, with the league pausing from late May until mid-July to release players to their national teams. It is the longest World Cup break MLS has ever taken, and the season resumed in mid-July with a run of rivalry games.
