Superb! Easy to purchase a ticket. I had a live customer service chat once, the staff member was so polite, helpful and informative. I loved the communication after purchase. On the match day they contacted me on WhatsApp if I want an upgrade on my tickets for free and after my confirmation I got my tickets within a minute. Great experience, thank you.

This is the best and most trusted website to get your tickets to any world event. I have used them 3 times throughout the years, I have used other sites for football matches and they are so transparent and fast, the first time I used them was in 2018 for a Roma match and then made the mistake to use a different site for the PSG match in April and they were terrible, from the website, customer service and responses. this is the only site I trust and use!

Bought 2 Club Wembley tickets less than 48 hours before the Championship Play Off Final. Good communication and tickets arrived the following day by email. No problems getting into the stadium and seats were great. Unfortunately my team’s performance was the only let down. Would definitely use this company again.

It was easier than I thought to find a group of seven seats together and very simple to book. Communication was excellent, the tickets were sent quickly and were easy to access, so no problems at the stadium. Seats were good and we had a great view. Everything worked well and I'll definitely be back for tickets again - many thanks!

Stadium information

Name:

Estádio dos Arcos (Estádio do Rio Ave FC)

Capacity:

5,300

Address:

Rua Dom Sancho I, 4480-876 Vila do Conde, Portugal

Description:

The Estádio dos Arcos, officially the Estádio do Rio Ave Futebol Clube, is the home of Rio Ave and has been since 1985. It sits in Vila do Conde, a coastal town just north of Porto. The ground once held around 12,815 people. In November 2020 the eastern stand was taken down for structural reasons, which dropped the capacity to roughly 5,300 today. That makes it one of the smaller grounds in the Primeira Liga. It's a tight, old-school stadium where the fans sit close to the field. The club is owned by Greek businessman Evangelos Marinakis, who also owns Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest. Some of those fans can book their Rio Ave tickets through our secure booking system.

Best way to travel to Estádio dos Arcos

Once you've booked your Rio Ave tickets, it's time to figure out how to get to the stadium. The club advises everyone to take public transportation. Here are the options you can use to reach the stadium.

By Metro

The Porto Metro is a handy way to reach Vila do Conde. The Póvoa line (Line B) runs north along the coast from Porto and stops in Vila do Conde. From the station it's a walk into town and over to the ground. The metro links the town with central Porto, so you can come up from the city with no fuss. Follow the fans and you won't get lost.

By Bus

Local buses run around Vila do Conde and connect the town with Póvoa de Varzim and the wider Porto area. The metro is the easier option coming from Porto on game day, but the buses cover the town and link up with the stations close to the ground.

By Car

The A28 highway runs up the coast from Porto and is the main road to Vila do Conde. From there it's a short drive to the stadium. There is some parking around the ground and in the town, but space fills up fast on game day, so the club recommends public transportation.

By Bicycle

Cycling to the Estádio dos Arcos is easier than you think. It's a quick, healthy way to make your trip and saves you a lot of money. The stadium is near the coast, so the ride is flat. On a bike you have all the freedom you need — you can get past traffic jams and avoid crowded public transportation.

Estádio dos Arcos guide

The Estádio dos Arcos is one of the smallest grounds in Portugal. With around 5,300 seats it doesn't take much for it to feel full. That's where we come in — we've got you covered with tickets for every single Rio Ave game. To keep things simple we split it into four sections: the South Stand, the North Stand, the East Stand and the West Stand.

South Stand

The South Stand is home to Rio Ave's most vocal fans. This is where the loudest home fans sit. It is the end behind one of the goals. The South Stand is known for the loudest atmosphere in the stadium. If you want to experience real Portuguese soccer, look for South Stand tickets. Whenever Rio Ave play toward this goal, you'll get that authentic Rio Ave feeling.

North Stand

On the opposite side of the South Stand you'll find the North Stand. This stand is behind the other goal. This is also where the away fans sit, in a corner of the North Stand. So if you're following your team to the Arcos, this is the place to look for. Don't forget to select the "away end" or away section when booking. The rest of the North Stand holds home fans. Especially during the big games, you'll feel the tension and rivalry in the North Stand.

East Stand

Along the side of the field you'll find the East Stand. This stand offers good sightlines across the whole field. The stand runs along the full length of the field. You get a clear view of the game from the side. The East Stand is a good pick for your first Rio Ave game. It's a bit more about the view and a bit less about the noise. But you know for sure you'll see everything.

West Stand

It's no surprise that this stand sits on the opposite side from the East Stand. The West Stand is the main stand. It is located on the side of the dugouts, which gives you a little something extra: you can hear the managers shouting and watch the players warm up from up close. This stand also holds the hospitality seats, so it's a bit more about the comfort and a bit less about the noise. But you know for sure you'll have a great view.

Which stand should you choose?

It's important to make the best decision when booking your Rio Ave tickets. That's why we've created this table with a quick comparison of all four stands. Check what matters to you and you'll find the best stand for your needs.

Priority Best Stand Why
Best atmosphere South Stand Lower Home of the most vocal fans, where the singing starts
Best view East/West Upper Central Perfect sightlines, see everything
First-time visitor East or West Stand Balance of atmosphere and views

Budget-conscious North Stand Upper or South Stand Upper Good value, solid views

Other information

Rio Ave Futebol Clube was founded on January 18, 1939 in Vila do Conde. The club is named after the Ave River, which runs through the town and into the Atlantic. Rio Ave is nicknamed "os Vila-condenses" and "os Rioavistas", and plays in green and white striped shirts. The club is a real talent factory. Portuguese internationals like Fábio Coentrão, Rui Jorge and goalkeeper Quim came through here, and goalkeepers Jan Oblak and Ederson also passed through the club early in their careers. In 2023 the members approved the entry of Greek investor Evangelos Marinakis, who also owns Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest. Greek head coach Sotiris Silaidopoulos took charge in June 2025.

American influences

Rio Ave is a small club from northern Portugal with no direct American links. The club is owned by Greek businessman Evangelos Marinakis, and the squad is built mostly from Portuguese, Greek and other international players rather than United States names. What has changed is access. US-based fans can now watch Rio Ave in the Primeira Liga: GOLTV holds the US rights to the league and streams several games a week through services such as Fanatiz and Fubo. That matters most to the Portuguese-American community, which has deep roots in the Northeast and California and follows Liga Portugal closely. American investors have also been buying into Portuguese clubs in recent years, so the league is more familiar to US fans than it once was.

Rivalries

Main Rivals

Regional derby against Varzim

Rio Ave's closest rivalry is the regional derby with Varzim, the club from neighboring Póvoa de Varzim just up the coast. The two towns sit side by side north of Porto, which makes this a proper local game. The clubs have spent recent seasons in different divisions, so the meetings have been rare, but the derby still matters to the fans in the Vila do Conde and Póvoa area.

Other games to watch

The trips to Porto, Benfica and Sporting

Like every smaller Primeira Liga side, Rio Ave's biggest days out are the visits to the country's "Big Three". The games against Porto, just down the road, are the closest of these and draw plenty of traveling fans. The games against Benfica and Sporting CP fill the small Estádio dos Arcos too. These aren't local derbies in the classic sense, but for the home crowd they're the marquee games of the season.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rio Ave tickets

Frequently Asked Questions about Rio Ave tickets

Rio Ave away tickets are a bit harder to find than tickets for home games. That's because there's much more space for home fans in each stadium than there is for away fans in any Primeira Liga stadium. We've managed to get our hands on Rio Ave soccer tickets for almost every Primeira Liga game. Select the away game you want to attend and then look at the ticket inventory. All our away tickets are labeled. The labels most often used for the Vila-condenses' away games are: Rio Ave section, Away section, Rio Ave fans section and away end. When the section label doesn't match these, the tickets are for the home team.
