Stadium Information
Name:
Stadio Ennio Tardini
Capacity:
approximately 22,352 seats
Address:
Via Alessandro Tanara 20/A, 43125 Parma, Italy
Club:
Parma Calcio 1913
Description:
Stadio Ennio Tardini opened on 16 September 1923 and is named after the club's president at the time, Ennio Tardini, who had driven the project forward but never lived to see his own stadium completed. After major renovation work in 2018, the stadium now offers a capacity of around 22,352 spectators, spread across four main stands. Not only its old age, also its compact build right in the city centre makes Stadio Ennio Tardini one of the most intimate and loudest grounds in Serie A. You will feel how close you are to the pitch as soon as you take your seat for the first time.
The stadium sits a short walk from the historic centre of Parma, close to its famous squares and cathedral. Not only its central location, also its historic architecture makes a visit to the Tardini a special experience for supporters from around the world.
Best Ways to Reach Stadio Ennio Tardini
Once your Parma tickets are booked, it is time to work out how to get to the stadium. Stadio Ennio Tardini is about a 15-minute walk southeast of the historic centre of Parma. Not only by train, also by bus, bicycle and car, you can reach the stadium without much trouble. It can be a bit of stressful to plan the route the first time, but once you have done it, you will get used to it quickly. Here are your options from central Parma:
By Train
Parma's main station is about 3 kilometres from Stadio Ennio Tardini and is well connected to the national rail network, with direct links to Bologna and Milan among others. From the station you can reach the stadium within a few minutes by bus or taxi.
By Bus
Several city bus lines connect central Parma with the area around Stadio Ennio Tardini, with stops just a few minutes' walk from the main entrances. Extra services run on matchdays, both towards the stadium before kick-off and back into the city centre after the final whistle. Depending on traffic, the ride from the city centre only takes a few minutes. During the bigger Serie A fixtures, when the stadium is close to full, the return buses tend to fill up quickly right after the final whistle, so it helps to build in a little extra time for that.
By Bicycle
Parma is a very bike-friendly city, and the ride from the centre to Stadio Ennio Tardini is completely flat and takes about 15 minutes. You will find bike racks near the stadium.
By Car
Parma is well served by the A1 motorway, which connects the city to Milan and Bologna. From the city centre, Stadio Ennio Tardini is only a few minutes away, to the southeast of the historic centre. Drivers arriving via the motorway should follow signs towards the city centre, then signs towards the stadium. Paid and free parking spaces can be found in the areas around the ground, although space is limited on big matchdays. After the final whistle, leaving the area can be a bit of stressful. Not only around the stadium itself, also on the approach roads, traffic can stay heavy for a while after a big match. Those who arrive early tend to get the best parking spots and an easier exit once the game is over.
The Stands of Stadio Ennio Tardini
Stadio Ennio Tardini is divided into four main areas: the Tribuna Centrale Petitot, the Tribuna Laterale Ovest, the Curva Nord and the Curva Sud. During Parma home matches, the Curva Nord is home to the club's own supporters, while away fans are traditionally placed in the Curva Sud, with a capacity of about 1,871 seats for the away section. You will never feel like you are watching the match from far away, whichever stand you are seated in, since the compact build keeps even the furthest seats close to the action. This is also one of the reasons a matchday at Stadio Ennio Tardini feels so special. Not only the home end, also the away section sits close enough to make you feel part of the match.
Curva Nord
The Curva Nord is home to the club's own supporters, the section where Parma's most loyal fans gather behind the goal for the full 90 minutes. You will find the best atmosphere in the stadium here, with a constant wall of noise, flags and chanting when the crociati play at home. It can be a bit of stressful for someone who has never experienced an Italian curva before, all that noise so close by, but if you want to feel what Parma really means to the whole Emilia region, you will have quite a special experience in the Curva Nord.
Curva Sud
On the opposite side of the pitch sits the Curva Sud, where the away section is located during Parma home matches. Supporters travelling for a Parma match at Stadio Ennio Tardini are placed here, in a clearly separated section with its own access. The view from this end is good, with a clear line of sight across the whole pitch and towards the Curva Nord in the distance. Not only the distance, also the viewing angle from this section is a little sharper than from the side stands, so it helps to bring good binoculars if you want to follow every detail. Many away fans who sit here once say they would happily do it again.
Tribuna Centrale Petitot
The Tribuna Centrale Petitot runs along one of the long sides of the pitch, right next to the grass with a direct view of the halfway line. From here you get one of the best viewing angles in the whole stadium, very close to the action and to the substitutes' benches. Tickets here are among the most sought-after in the ground, precisely because the closeness to the pitch is so exceptional.
Tribuna Laterale Ovest
Directly opposite the Tribuna Centrale Petitot sits the Tribuna Laterale Ovest, with a good overall view of everything happening on the pitch. Also this stand, thanks to its closeness to the exits, is a popular choice for families and first-time visitors. Tickets here are generally a little more affordable than in the main stand. Also for a group visiting Parma for the first time, this stand is usually a comfortable and relaxed choice, and getting in and out tends to be quick even when the ground is busy.
Which Stand Should You Choose?
We have created this table so you can compare the four sections of Stadio Ennio Tardini at a glance. Look at what matters most to you, and you will find the right section.
| Priority | Best Stand | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Best atmosphere | Curva Nord | Home of Parma's own supporters, flags and chants, loudest part of the stadium for the full 90 minutes |
| Best view | Tribuna Centrale Petitot | Direct view of the halfway line, very close to the pitch and substitutes' benches |
| First visit | Tribuna Laterale Ovest | Good overall view, easy access and exit |
| Families with children | Tribuna Laterale Ovest | Calmer than the Curva Nord, comfortable seats, a little more affordable |
| Small budget | Curva Nord, upper tier | Cheaper than the main stands, with a full view of the pitch |
| Singing and standing | Curva Nord | Expect to stand, sing and join the ultras for the full 90 minutes |
| Away supporters | Curva Sud (away section) | Separate entrance, full view of the pitch and of the Curva Nord in the distance |
| Premium comfort | Tribuna Centrale Petitot, boxes | Best view, best stadium service, direct access to the main stand |
About Parma Calcio 1913
Current head coach:
Carlos Cuesta
Current captain:
Enrico Del Prato
Last season's finish:
12th place, Serie A 2025-26
Club History
Parma was founded in July 1913 as Verdi Foot Ball Club, in honour of the centenary of composer Giuseppe Verdi, who was born in the province of Parma. After several name changes, the club eventually settled on the name Parma Calcio 1913. The club's golden era falls in the 1990s and early 2000s, when Parma won, among other titles, three Coppa Italia, a Supercoppa Italiana, two UEFA Cups, a European Super Cup and a Cup Winners' Cup. Not only these eight trophies in a single decade, also the runner-up finish in the 1996-97 season, still the club's best-ever league finish to this day, made Parma one of the most feared clubs in Italy at the time.
The 2025-26 season went far more smoothly for Parma than the relegation battles of recent years. Under new head coach Carlos Cuesta, who has been in charge since the summer of 2025, the team secured mathematical safety on 25 April 2026, three matchdays before the end of the season. A 1-0 home win over Pisa, with the decisive goal from young forward Nesta Elphege in the 82nd minute, sealed safety early. By the end of the season Parma had finished in a solid 12th place with 45 points, well clear of the relegation zone. Cuesta's contract was extended in the summer of 2026 for the new season.
Parma and Emilia
Parma is a city known well beyond football for its food and culture, from Prosciutto di Parma to Parmesan cheese. This cultural weight gives every home match at Stadio Ennio Tardini an extra, quite special atmosphere. Not only the historic centre of Parma, with its cathedral and baptistery, also the closeness of the stadium to the city centre makes a visit to Parma a special experience.
On matchdays, the streets around Stadio Ennio Tardini fill with supporters in yellow and blue, and many fans combine the stadium visit with a trip into the historic centre. A visit to the famous Piazza Garibaldi before kick-off is also very popular among away supporters. If you want to spend a quiet afternoon before the match, many supporters combine the stadium visit with a short stroll through the centre.
Famous Players
Gianluigi Buffon, later a World Cup winner and one of the best goalkeepers in the history of football, started his career at Parma and made his debut here. Fabio Cannavaro and Lilian Thuram formed one of the best defences in Europe in the 1990s wearing the crociato shirt. Hernán Crespo remains to this day one of the most beloved goalscorers in the club's history, while Dino Baggio caused a sensation with his spectacular long-range strikes. Not only these names from the past, also captain Enrico Del Prato secured himself, through his performances in the 2025-26 season, a lasting place in the club's recent history.
Parma Honours and Titles
Parma have never won the Scudetto, but can point to three Coppa Italia, a Supercoppa Italiana, two UEFA Cups, a European Super Cup and a Cup Winners' Cup, all won between 1992 and 2002. The runner-up finish in the 1996-97 season also ranks among the club's greatest sporting achievements. It is a remarkable trophy cabinet for a club from a relatively small city, one that held its own against the biggest names in Europe in the 1990s. Affordable and premium tickets for Parma in Serie A and Coppa Italia are now available on Livefootballtickets.com.
Greatest achievements:
3x Coppa Italia, 1x Supercoppa Italiana, 2x UEFA Cup, 1x European Super Cup, 1x Cup Winners' Cup (all between 1992 and 2002)
Best Serie A finish:
Runner-up, 1996-97 season
Landmark historic match:
1-0 home win over Pisa on 25 April 2026 (goal by Nesta Elphege), which secured mathematical safety three matchdays before the end of the season
Parma Rivalries
Main Rivalry
The Derby dell'Emilia against Bologna
The most important rivalry in Parma's world is the Derby dell'Emilia against Bologna, the clash between the two biggest cities in Emilia-Romagna. The two clubs did not meet each other for the first time until 6 November 1983, much later than for many other Italian city derbies. Not only the geographic closeness of the two cities along the Via Emilia, also each side's claim to being the region's most decorated club gives this fixture its intensity. It can be a bit of stressful to fully understand this rivalry from the outside, given how deep the emotions run on both sides of Emilia.
On derby days, the whole region splits into two camps, yellow and blue for Parma, red and blue for Bologna, and supporters travel from across Emilia-Romagna to follow the match live. Even outside the region, this derby is recognised as one of the most intense city rivalries in Italy, precisely because it unites the two most historic clubs of Emilia. You will hear supporters from both sides talk for years about past editions of this fixture.
Other Rivalries
Besides the Derby dell'Emilia, Parma holds an even older historic rivalry with Reggiana, known as the Derby dell'Enza, named after the river separating the provinces of Parma and Reggio Emilia. The rivalry with Modena, whose history of friendship turned rivalry goes back to the 1920s, also lives on in the memory of many older supporters. Not only the sporting side, also the long shared history in Serie B and Serie C gives these rivalries a particular flavour within Italian football.
