VfL Bochum is a soccer club from Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. VFL Bochum was established in 1848 which makes them as one of the oldest sports clubs in Germany. VFL Bochum had their first success during 1965 receiving 1st place in the 3rd tier of the Amateurliga Westfalen which got them into a higher level named Regionalliga West. Thereon VFL Bochum began to climp up into the Bundesliga in 1971 which is the highest level of the German soccer league system. VFL Bochum has been competing between the highest level and 2nd Bundesliga and their best achievement has been in 1997 and 2004 when gaining 5th place. This led the VFL Bochum into the UEFA Cup tournaments in those years. VFL Bochums home field is the Ruhrstadion which seats 31,328 people.     Honestly - l was unsure! But no need at all. Travelled to Istanbul for the Aston Villa game thinking it would be easy to get a ticket - it wasn't.
