Mendizorrotza Stadium Guide
Mendizorrotza is one of those stadiums where you can experience soccer up close, offering a truly special experience. It’s a small stadium, which its loyal fans greatly appreciate for the intense atmosphere and the sense of connection with the team they feel at every game—which is why tickets usually sell out. That’s where we come in, as we have tickets for several Alavés matches. The stadium has four sections: Principal, Preferente, Polideportivo, and Cervantes.
Principal
The Principal section is the side where the VIP boxes are located. This section offers a panoramic view of the field and is also very close to the benches.
Preferente
The Preferente section combines good seats with affordable prices. It’s on the opposite sideline from the Principal, so visibility is just as good, making it an ideal choice for many Alavés fans.
Cervantes
This is the end section where the fan club is located, so it’s usually the loudest area in the stadium. It’s an ideal spot if you want to soak up the atmosphere of the game and don’t mind standing for practically the entire 90 minutes.
Sports Complex
This is the section behind the goal that’s usually reserved for visiting fans during some matches. This is where you’ll find the most affordable tickets.
Which section should you choose?
It’s important to make the best decision when booking your Deportivo Alavés tickets. That’s why we’ve created this table with a quick comparison of the four stands. You can review what matters most to you when watching a game and choose the stand that best suits your preferences.
| Priority | Best Section | Why |
|---|---|---|

Additional information
The club was founded in 1921, and its history includes moments that are deeply cherished by its fans. Particularly noteworthy is its brilliant run in European competition in the early 2000s, a period that left a lasting impression on Alavés fans and elevated the club’s prestige on the international stage.
Alavés is not one of Spain’s “big clubs”; in fact, it typically alternates between the First and Second Divisions. However, it has always been known as a proud club that is difficult to beat at home. In recent years, the main objective has been to establish itself in LaLiga and build a stable, long-term project.
Vitorian and Basque identity
Alavés maintains a very close relationship with Vitoria and Basque soccer. Its fans value effort, discipline, and commitment, which is clearly reflected game after game at Mendizorrotza, where every point is hard-fought and where the local support is palpable.
Deportivo Alavés’ Achievements
Alavés has no titles to its name, despite having enjoyed significant periods in Spanish and European soccer. Its greatest achievements are the standout seasons that have earned the club its current prestige. Tickets for Deportivo Alavés matches are available at Livefootballtickets.com.

Rivalries
Main rival
Basque derbies
Alavés does not have a clear-cut rivalry with any one particular team, but given the region, its matches against Athletic Club and Real Sociedad hold special significance for its fans, as they are rivals from the Basque Country. This rivalry does not always receive the same media attention as other major derbies; however, there is a strong element of regional pride. These are very intense matches that are closely followed by fans in the area.
Minor Rivalries
Osasuna
Matches against Osasuna are also typically marked by a special sense of excitement and intensity. Similarly, geographical proximity is what fuels this rivalry, compounded by the fact that the matches are usually very close and often determine the aspirations of both teams throughout the season.
