Great experience, everything ran smoothly, the only thing that would be nice is getting the tickets a bit earlier than on the day of the game. but it is a minor issue.

Stadium information

Stade de Genève

Capacity:

Address:

Route des Jeunes, 1212 Grand-Lancy, Geneva, Switzerland

Stade de Genève

Description:

The Charmilles was Servette's home stadium for almost a century, until they moved out to the Stade de Genève in 2003. The new ground sits in Lancy, in the industrial Praille district south of the city, and it holds 30,084 people, which makes it the second biggest soccer stadium in Switzerland. It hasn't always been a happy building. Servette went bankrupt twice in the years after moving in and spent a long spell in the lower divisions, playing in front of a lot of empty seats. Those days are gone. The crowds are back, and some of those fans can book their Servette tickets through our secure booking system.

Best way to travel to Stade de Genève

Once you've booked your Servette tickets, it's time to figure out how to get to the stadium. The Stade de Genève is outside the middle of Geneva but it's well connected, and the club advises everyone to take public transportation. Here are the options you can use to reach the stadium.

By Train

The nearest station is Lancy-Bachet, which sits on the Léman Express network and is only a few minutes from Genève-Cornavin, the main station. Lancy-Pont-Rouge is the other option and isn't much further away. The Léman Express runs across the border into France as well, which is how a good part of the crowd gets here.

By Tram and Bus

Geneva's TPG trams and buses serve the Praille area, and there are stops within walking distance of the stadium. Be aware that the stop closest to the stadium normally shuts around kickoff for safety reasons, so you may be dropped a little further out on the way in. Give yourself a few extra minutes.

By Car

If you come by car, take the A1 and exit at La Praille, which brings you out beside the stadium. There's parking around the stadium and in the shopping center next door, but it fills up early and the roads out are slow after the final whistle. As everywhere in Geneva, the train is usually the better idea.

By Bicycle

Cycling to the Stade de Genève is easier than you think. It's a quick, healthy way to make your trip and saves you a lot of money. Geneva is flat along the river, and the ride out to Lancy takes about 20 minutes from the middle of town. On a bike you have all the freedom you need — you can get past traffic jams and avoid crowded public transportation.

Stade de Genève guide

The Stade de Genève is one of the bigger ones in the Swiss Super League. That's where we come in — we've got you covered with tickets for every single Servette game. The stadium is divided into four sides: the Tribune Nord, the Tribune Sud, the Tribune Principale and the Tribune Est, with the away fans in their own corner.

Tribune Nord

The Tribune Nord is home to Servette's most vocal fans. This is where you'll find the Section Grenat, the club's organized support, and it's where the die-hard Servette fans sit. The Tribune Nord is known for the loudest atmosphere in the stadium. If you want to experience real Swiss soccer, look for Tribune Nord tickets. The stand is located behind one of the goals. Whenever Servette play toward this goal, you'll get the authentic Grenat feeling.

Secteur X

The away fans get their own part of the ground, known as Secteur X. Especially when Sion come down from the Valais or Lausanne come along the lake, you'll feel the tension and rivalry in this corner. When you book tickets for a Servette away game, this is the type of sector you'll end up in.

Tribune Principale

Along the side of the field you'll find the Tribune Principale, the main stand. This stand offers perfect sightlines across the entire field. For a business-class experience, you can sit in the hospitality area. The Tribune Principale is a bit more about luxury and a bit less about the soccer atmosphere, but you can be sure you'll have the best view in the stadium. The dugouts are on this side as well, so you can hear the managers shouting and watch the players warm up from up close.

Tribune Est and Tribune Sud

It's no surprise that the Tribune Est sits on the opposite side from the main stand. There are also quite a lot of similarities with it. You get amazing sightlines, but you'll also be surrounded by somewhat quieter fans. Behind the other goal is the Tribune Sud. There's a dedicated family sector in the ground as well, which is worth asking about if you're bringing children.

Which stand should you choose?

It's important to make the best decision when booking your Servette tickets. That's why we've created this table with a quick comparison of the different parts of the Stade de Genève. Check what matters to you and you'll find the best stand for your needs.

Priority Best Stand Why
Best atmosphere Tribune Nord Home of the Section Grenat, singing all game
Best view Tribune Principale, halfway line You look straight across the field
First-time visitor Tribune Principale or Tribune Est Good view and a calmer crowd
Families with children The family sector A safe, welcoming corner for kids
Budget-conscious Tribune Est or Tribune Sud The cheapest seats with a good view
Singing & standing Tribune Nord Expect to be on your feet
See the players Tribune Principale, lower rows The dugouts and the tunnel are on this side
Premium comfort Tribune Principale hospitality Padded seats and lounge access

Other information

Servette FC was founded in 1890, which makes it one of the oldest clubs in Switzerland, though it started out as a rugby club and only added a soccer section around 1900. The team plays in a deep maroon color called grenat, which is where the nickname Les Grenat comes from. With 17 championships, Servette is the third most successful club in the country, but the last one was back in 1999. What followed was hard: the club went bankrupt in 2005, and again a few years later, and had to rebuild from the bottom. Since 2015 it has been owned by the Fondation 1890, a foundation set up to keep the club stable.

American influences

Servette FC, Geneva's grand old club, is one of the more locally rooted names in the Swiss Super League. It's run by a Swiss foundation, has no American owner, and has never had a USMNT regular in its ranks. The real American story in this league lives elsewhere: at Chicago Fire owner Joe Mansueto's Lugano, at the Los Angeles FC-backed Grasshopper, and in USMNT striker Jordan Pefok's title-winning spell at Young Boys. Servette's appeal for US fans is simpler — a historic club in one of Europe's most international cities.

Servette Honors & Trophies

Servette consistently competes in the top tier of the Swiss Super League. The club also plays in European competition, and these high-profile games draw a lot of attention from fans and ticket buyers because of their importance. Cheap and premium Servette soccer tickets for the Swiss Super League are available to buy now at LiveFootballTickets.com.

Rivalries

Main Rivals

The Derby du Rhône against Sion

Servette against FC Sion is named after the river that runs through both places, and the club itself calls it the only real derby in French-speaking Switzerland. The first meeting was in September 1962, when Servette won 6-0 at the Charmilles, and more than a hundred league games later there's still almost nothing between them. The rivalry has grown more and more intense over the years — the city on the lake against the mountain canton — and this is the game both sets of fans look for first when the calendar comes out.

The Derby lémanique against Lausanne-Sport

The older rivalry is with Lausanne-Sport, at the other end of Lake Geneva. It's Geneva against Vaud, two cantons that have been arguing about which one matters more for a very long time, and the soccer is only part of it. Both clubs have had their ultras sections closed after trouble at this game.

Minor Rivalries

The big clubs from the German-speaking side

Games against FC Basel and Young Boys are the ones where Romandy gets measured against the rest of the country. There's no old grudge here, just the constant test of whether the best club in French-speaking Switzerland can live with the giants from the other side of the language border.

Frequently Asked Questions about Servette tickets

Frequently Asked Questions about Servette tickets

Servette away tickets are a bit harder to find than tickets for home games. That's because there's much more space for home fans than there is for away fans in any Swiss Super League stadium. We've managed to get our hands on Servette soccer tickets for almost every away game. Select the away game you want to attend and then look at the ticket inventory. All our away tickets are labeled. The labels most often used for Servette's away games are: Servette section, Away section, Servette fans section and away end. When the section label doesn't match these, the tickets are for the home team.

Come and watch the biggest club in French-speaking Switzerland with Servette tickets from Livefootballtickets.com. We currently have 16 tickets available across all Servette games, with prices starting at just $96 and an average ticket price of $119.
