The Stade Pierre-Mauroy has been LOSC Lille's home since 2012, when the club left the old Stade Nord and moved into one of the most modern stadiums in France. It sits in Villeneuve-d'Ascq, just outside the city, with a capacity of 50,186 — the fourth-largest stadium in the country. It was named after Pierre Mauroy, the former Mayor of Lille and Prime Minister of France, shortly after his death in 2013. The stadium has a retractable roof and a field that can actually be lifted and moved, so the venue doubles as an indoor arena for concerts and other sports. It has also hosted Euro 2016 and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

By Metro
The metro is the fastest and most convenient way to get to Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Take Metro Line 1 in the direction of 4 Cantons — Stade Pierre-Mauroy, which is the last stop on the line and drops you right next to the stadium. Follow the Lille fans and you won't get lost. Line 1 runs through the heart of the city and connects to both Lille-Flandres and Lille-Europe stations, so wherever you're coming from you should be able to get to the stadium without any problems.
By Bus
The bus is a fast and convenient option, with several routes serving the area around the stadium. Lines 18, 32, 66 and B1 all stop close to the stadium. High-frequency services on the Ilévia network will get you within a short walk of the stadium from many parts of the Lille metropolitan area.

LOSC Lille were founded in 1944 when two of the region's biggest clubs, Olympique Lillois and SC Fives, merged. Both clubs were founding members of the French Division 1, and Olympique Lillois had won the very first French league title back in 1933. The newly formed LOSC didn't hang around. In the years right after the Second World War they became the dominant force in French soccer and picked up the nickname La Machine de Guerre — The War Machine. They did the league and cup double in 1946 and collected seven major trophies in a single decade. Things went quieter for a long time after that, but the club came back under Christophe Galtier, winning another double in 2011 and then, most famously, beating PSG to the Ligue 1 title in 2021. Lille are also well known for producing and selling top talent — Eden Hazard, Nicolas Pépé and Yohan Cabaye all came through the club.
American influences
Lille's best-known American connection is Timothy Weah. The United States winger joined from PSG in 2019, spent four seasons at the club, and was part of the squad that famously beat PSG to the Ligue 1 title in 2021 — a title run that made Les Dogues a popular second team for plenty of US fans. Weah, the son of Ballon d'Or winner George Weah, left for Juventus in 2023 after more than 100 appearances for the club. Lille has no American owner — the club is controlled by the Luxembourg-based fund Merlyn Partners — but Ligue 1's broadcast deal with beIN Sports, which runs through the 2028-29 season, keeps Lille's games easy to find on US television, and the club's regular runs in the Champions League and Europa League have only grown its following across the Atlantic.
