Stadium information
Name:
Stade Océane
Capacity:
25,178
Address:
Boulevard de Léningrad, 76600 Le Havre, France
Description:
The Stade Océane is the home of Le Havre AC and, with 25,178 seats, the largest stadium in Normandy. It opened in 2012 at the entrance to the city, replacing the club's old home, the Stade Jules Deschaseaux. Its outer shell is made of blue translucent panels that light up at night, a nod to the sea and the club's sky blue and navy colors. The field is a hybrid grass surface, and the stadium also hosted games at the 2019 Women's World Cup. The stadium has a capacity of 25,178, and some of those fans can book their Le Havre AC tickets through our secure booking system.
Best way to travel to the Stade Océane
Once you've booked your Le Havre AC tickets, it's time to figure out how to get to the stadium. The Stade Océane sits at the eastern entrance to Le Havre, and local transit is run by the LiA network, which puts on extra services on game days. Here are the options you can use to reach the stadium.
By Train
Le Havre is well connected by rail. Intercités trains run from Paris Saint-Lazare to the Gare du Havre in a little over two hours. From the station the LiA tram and bus network takes you across the city toward the stadium.
By Tram and Bus
The LiA network runs the city's trams and buses, with extra services before and after games to bring fans close to the stadium. The tram system, which opened the same year as the Stade Océane, connects the center of the city to the wider network.
By Car
The stadium was built on a redeveloped industrial site at the edge of the city, with parking nearby, although spaces fill up on game days so it's best to arrive early. If you'd rather avoid the traffic, park farther out and use the tram.
By Bicycle
Cycling to the Stade Océane is easier than you think. Le Havre is a flat, compact city, and there are bike routes toward the stadium with somewhere to leave your bike near the stadium. On a dry day it's a quick and easy way in.
Stade Océane guide
The Stade Océane has four stands set close to the field under its blue shell. That's where we come in — we've got you covered with tickets for every single Le Havre AC game. Below is a guide to each part of the stadium.
Tribune Ouest
The Tribune Ouest, on the west side of the field, is the main stand. It holds the central premium seats, the private boxes and the hospitality areas, and gives a clear view across the whole stadium. It's the most comfortable place to sit.
Tribune Est
Opposite, on the east side, is the Tribune Est, the other long stand. It offers a good side-on view along the length of the field and is usually a more affordable seat than the main stand.
Behind the goals
The stands behind the goals are home to Le Havre's most vocal fans. This is where most of the noise comes from on game days. These stands are known for the loudest atmosphere in the stadium. If you want to experience real French soccer, look for tickets behind the goals.
Visitors' section
Traveling fans are given a designated section of the stadium. If you're following your team to Le Havre, this is the area to look for, so make sure you pick the "away end" or away section when you book your tickets.
Which stand should you choose?
It's important to make the best decision when booking your Le Havre AC tickets. That's why we've created this table with a quick comparison of the different areas of the stadium. Check what matters to you and you'll find the best stand for your needs.
| Priority | Best Stand | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Best atmosphere | Behind the goals | Where the most vocal home support gathers |
| Best view | Tribune Ouest | Main stand with a clear view across the field |

Other information
Le Havre Athletic Club, known as Le Havre AC or by its initials HAC, is widely recognized as the oldest soccer club in France, which is why it is nicknamed Le Club Doyen, the dean or senior club. Its roots go back to 1872, when it was founded by British residents of the port, and its sky blue and navy colors, known as Ciel et Marine, are said to come from the blues of Oxford and Cambridge. The club is based in the Normandy port of Le Havre and is now owned by the American group Blue Crow Sports Group, with Jeff Luhnow as president, having been run for many years by the previous owner Vincent Volpe.
The senior club of French soccer
Le Havre have spent much of their history moving between the top two divisions, and are known across France as a club that develops young players, with their academy producing a long line of professionals. The men's team returned to Ligue 1 in 2023 as Ligue 2 champions and have worked to keep their place in the top flight since. The Stade Océane also hosted games at the 2019 Women's World Cup, and the club's women's side plays at the same stadium.
American influences
France's oldest club has some of the strongest American ties in Ligue 1. Le Havre was owned for a decade by Vincent Volpe, the American businessman who steered the club back toward the top flight, and since 2025 it has been in the hands of Blue Crow Sports Group, a Houston-based ownership group led by Jeff Luhnow, the former Major League Baseball executive who ran the Houston Astros. Blue Crow operates a network of clubs that has included Leganés in Spain and Cancún in Mexico, with Le Havre as its French flagship. Add the beIN Sports rights deal that keeps Ligue 1 on US television through the 2028-29 season, and following Le Club Doyen from the States has never been easier.
Le Havre AC Honors & Trophies

Rivalries
Main Rivals
The Normandy derby against Caen
Le Havre's biggest rivalry is the Normandy derby against Caen, the two leading clubs in the region. The matchup has produced plenty of heated occasions over the years, and the club anthem was even launched at a derby against Caen. In recent seasons the two have been in different divisions, with Caen in the lower leagues, but it remains the game Le Havre fans most want back on the calendar.
Minor Rivalries
The big visitors
With the derby against Caen on hold, the standout occasions at the Stade Océane tend to be the visits of the biggest clubs in the country. Games against Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille and Lille are always among the most in-demand games of the season.
