Stadium information
Name:
Stade Raymond Kopa
Capacity:
19,800
Address:
Boulevard Pierre de Coubertin, 49000 Angers, France
Description:
The Stade Raymond Kopa is the home of Angers SCO. It first opened in 1912 and was known as the Stade Jean Bouin until 2017, when it was renamed after Raymond Kopa, the France and Real Madrid great who began his professional career at Angers. The stadium is owned by the city of Angers, and the club has rebuilt two of its stands in recent years, the Colombier in 2018 and the Saint-Léonard in 2022, taking the capacity to its current figure. The field is an AirFibr hybrid surface. The stadium has a capacity of 19,800, and some of those fans can book their Angers SCO tickets through our secure booking system.
Best way to travel to the Stade Raymond Kopa
Once you've booked your Angers SCO tickets, it's time to figure out how to get to the stadium. The Stade Raymond Kopa is close to the center of Angers, and local transit is run by Irigo, which puts on extra services on game days. The club advises everyone to take public transportation. Here are the options you can use to reach the stadium.
By Train
Angers-Saint-Laud is the city's main train station, about two miles from the stadium. From there it's roughly a thirty-minute walk, or a short bus or taxi ride, and there are regular services from Paris, Nantes and the rest of the region.
By Bus
Irigo runs the city's buses. Lines 1, 5, 10 and 40 stop at Saumuroise, about five minutes on foot from the stadium, while lines 7, 8 and 40 stop at the dedicated Stade Raymond Kopa stop, a minute away. On game days the club and Irigo run extra services, including a special Line 1 service straight to the stadium.
By Tram
The tram is another option. Take Line B to the Montaigne stop, which is about a twenty-minute walk from the stadium through the center of the city.
By Car
Parking close to the stadium is limited and the surrounding streets are busy on game days, so the club advises using public transportation. If you do drive, park farther out and finish the trip by bus or tram.
By Bicycle
Cycling to the Stade Raymond Kopa is easier than you think. It's a quick, healthy way to make your trip and saves you a lot of money. Dedicated bike paths connect the stadium to the city center, and there are secure bike racks near the stadium at Rue du Colombier and Boulevard Coubertin. Electric bikes and scooters can also be rented through the Pony service.
Stade Raymond Kopa guide
The Stade Raymond Kopa has four stands set close to the field. That's where we come in — we've got you covered with tickets for every single Angers SCO game. Below is a guide to each part of the stadium.
Tribune Saint-Léonard
The Tribune Saint-Léonard is the newest and largest stand, rebuilt in 2022 with around 5,272 seats. It holds the club's hospitality areas and the Le Panoramique restaurant, which looks out over the field, and it's the most comfortable part of the stadium.
Tribune Colombier
The Tribune Colombier, rebuilt in 2018, is another of the main stands and offers a clear view across the field. It's a good choice for a comfortable seat with strong sightlines.
Behind the goals
The stands behind the goals are home to Angers SCO's most vocal fans. This is where the Angers kop gathers and where most of the noise comes from. These stands are known for the loudest atmosphere in the stadium. If you want to experience real French soccer, look for tickets behind the goals. They're located behind the goals, so whenever Angers play toward your end, you'll get that authentic Angers feeling.
Visitors' section
Traveling fans are given a designated section of the stadium. If you're following your team to Angers, this is the area to look for, so make sure you pick the "away end" or away section when you book your tickets.
Which stand should you choose?

Other information
Angers Sporting Club de l'Ouest, known to everyone as Angers SCO or simply Le SCO, was founded in 1919 and is based in Angers, in the Pays de la Loire region of western France. The club plays in black and white and is nicknamed Les Scoïstes and Les Noirs et Blancs. Angers have spent more than thirty seasons in the top flight across their history, moving between the divisions over the years, and are owned by the Chabane family, with Romain Chabane as president.
A club with history
Angers reached the Coupe de France final twice, in 1957 and again in 2017, when they lost a close final to Paris Saint-Germain. The club also made its one and only European appearance in the UEFA Cup in 1972-73. After dropping into Ligue 2, Angers returned to the top flight as runners-up in 2023-24 under Alexandre Dujeux and have worked to establish themselves in Ligue 1 once again.
American influences
Angers SCO has no American owner, but the club came close to having one. In 2023, then-president Saïd Chabane agreed to sell the club to Global Football Capital, an American investment fund, in a deal valued at around €65 million. The sale fell through when one of the fund's backers pulled out of the consortium, and the club has stayed in French hands with the Chabane family ever since. Americans have been rare on the field too — no US international has made his name at the Stade Raymond Kopa. American fans can still follow Le SCO every week, though: Ligue 1 is broadcast in the United States on beIN Sports under a rights deal that runs through the 2028-29 season, so games against PSG, Marseille and the rest of the league are easy to find on US television.

Rivalries
Main Rivals
The derby against Nantes
Angers SCO's biggest rivalry is the derby against Nantes, the other major club in this part of western France. The two sides are the leading clubs in the region, and the meeting between them is the game the Angers supporters look forward to most, with bragging rights across the area at stake.
Minor Rivalries
The regional rivals
Angers also have a local rivalry with nearby Laval, a matchup that has been played most often in the lower divisions. More widely, the visits of the biggest clubs in the country are always among the most in-demand games of the season at the Stade Raymond Kopa.
