Hill Dickinson Stadium
Everton's state-of-the-art Hill Dickinson Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock represents a new chapter in the club's history. After 133 years at Goodison Park, the Toffees moved into their spectacular waterfront home in 2025. The 52,769-capacity arena features a striking design with the stands wrapped into one continuous bowl, creating an intimidating atmosphere for visiting sides. Manchester City made their first competitive visit to the new ground in May 2026.
Head-to-Head Record
This fixture represents one of English soccer's most historic encounters, with over 200 meetings between the clubs dating back to 1899. Manchester City hold the upper hand in the all-time record, with around 80 wins to Everton's 63 and roughly 47 draws. However, Everton have historic bragging rights from the biggest meeting between the clubs – a 3-0 victory in the 1933 FA Cup final, the only major showpiece the two have contested. In recent years, City have had the better of the rivalry and remain unbeaten against Everton in their last several meetings.
Last Meeting
The most recent meeting produced a thriller. On May 4, 2026 – City's first ever visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium – Everton raced into a 3-1 lead through a Thierno Barry brace and a Jake O'Brien header, only for Manchester City to fight back. Erling Haaland pulled one back before Jérémy Doku struck deep into stoppage time to rescue a 3-3 draw, a result that dented City's title bid. Earlier in the season, City had won the reverse fixture 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium, with Haaland scoring twice.
Everton 2026-2027 Season
David Moyes's return to Everton has brought stability following a turbulent few years, and the Toffees finished 13th in their first full season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. The passionate home support continues to build the atmosphere at the club's waterfront home. Iliman Ndiaye has emerged as a key creative force, Beto and Thierno Barry provide a goal threat, and Jordan Pickford remains one of the league's finest goalkeepers. Everton will be eager to climb the table and push toward the upper half in the 2026-2027 campaign.
Manchester City 2026-2027 Season
Manchester City enter a new era under Enzo Maresca, who succeeds Pep Guardiola after the Catalan stepped down following a decade and 20 trophies at the Etihad. City finished as runners-up to champions Arsenal last season but lifted both the FA Cup and the EFL Cup to complete a domestic cup double. Erling Haaland remains the focal point after another prolific campaign in which he won the Premier League Golden Boot with 27 goals, supported by the likes of Jérémy Doku, Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki. Maresca, a former City assistant, will be determined to reclaim the title in his first season in charge.
