How the promotion final works
The National League champions go up automatically. The clubs finishing second through seventh enter the playoffs, starting with eliminators between fourth and seventh and between fifth and sixth. The winners face the second and third-placed clubs in the semifinals, with the higher finisher hosting each tie. The two semifinal winners then meet at Wembley Stadium in the promotion final, also known as the playoff final, and the winner takes the second and last promotion place into League Two. If the score is level after ninety minutes, extra time and, if needed, penalties decide it.
