I think the fact that it took so long for the match ticket to actually become real was a major factor. All the problems building up to the game were completely wiped out as the admittance into the game couldn’t have been smoother.

This is my fifth times purchased the premier league tickets from them and here is my first time to leave the review. I have no doubt to say that this is a reliable, efficiency and honestly website for purchasing. With my recently purchased, encountered issue of tickets, customer servicer of Mike and Ryan extended a prompt service to solve my problem. Keep it up and will definitely consume ticket to you guys again. Thank you.

I was first hesitant about buying tickets through a website I hadn't heard of but I was very pleased with the service from LiveFootballTickets. I bought a reasonably priced ticket to the Arsenal v Manchester City Community Shield match and it was delivered the next day and successfully saved to wallet without any problems. On matchday the ticket scanning worked just fine and I was able to see a memorable match in my home city. Great booking experience! Highly recommended for football events

France vs Senegal – World Cup 2026 Tickets, Preview & Guide

France open their World Cup campaign against Senegal in a fixture that promises plenty. For France, it's the first chance to set the tone of a tournament in which expectations are, as ever, massive. Senegal arrive with their own hopes of progressing to the latter stages of the tournament and have a squad that is physically strong, tactically disciplined and more than capable of unsettling elite sides.

The match takes place on 16 June, with kick-off at 8 pm BST, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, one of the largest venues in the competition and the perfect setting for such a huge fixture. Its scale and open design often influence games, particularly in warm conditions, and both teams will be mindful of managing their energy.

As opening games go, it's an interesting one: a heavyweight wanting to avoid a slip-up, and an African side looking to disrupt the normal order.

How to Buy Tickets for France vs Senegal

Demand for World Cup fixtures will be high, and tickets are expected to move quickly once allocations open. In fact, our customer service team regularly hear from fans who want to know: How can I book World Cup tickets? And it can be tricky. 1. Select the match you want to attend and click 'View Tickets'.
  2. Select the area you would like to sit within the stadium graphic on the right-hand side.

Ticket prices tend to vary depending on the seat category and match type, so do bear that in mind when selecting matches. Some games, mainly knockout matches or popular teams, can sell out incredibly quickly, so make sure you book early and are on high alert for when tickets come on sale!

France vs Senegal Preview & Predictions

France head into their opener in good shape, with a settled squad and elite depth throughout the team. Their form has been steady rather than spectacular, but they remain one of the most reliable tournament sides in world soccer, capable of managing games even when not at full flow. Senegal arrive with a different profile: physically imposing, tactically disciplined and experienced enough at this level to make life uncomfortable for opponents who expect to dominate the ball. Their recent results have been mixed, but the core of their AFCON-winning group remains intact and gives them a clear identity.

The head-to-head history is limited, with their only World Cup meeting coming in 2002, a famous 1–0 Senegal win that inevitably shapes the narrative around this fixture and serves as a reminder that France can be vulnerable in early group games.

Tactically, France will look to control possession through their midfield and use their wide players to stretch Senegal. Senegal, meanwhile, will aim to squeeze the pitch tightly, counter quickly and test France's defense in transition, where they can be exposed.

Key Players to Watch

France arguably do not have a weakness throughout their squad, but their main strength lies in the balance between established stars and players entering their peak. Kylian Mbappé remains their star player. His form coming into the tournament has been strong, and he remains France's clearest route to breaking down stubborn defenses. Alongside him, Michael Olise has been in sensational form: intelligent movement, reliable ball progression and the ability to dictate France's rhythm in tight games. At the back, William Saliba offers calm, athletic defending that will be vital against Senegal's pace in behind.

For Senegal, Sadio Mané is still the focal point. Even if his role has evolved, his ability to carry the ball, draw fouls and unsettle defenders remains central to their attack. Kalidou Koulibaly, meanwhile, remains Senegal's anchor at the back, giving them the stability they need to stay competitive for long stretches.

MetLife Stadium – Match Venue

MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford provides an imposing backdrop for France vs Senegal. Usually home to the New York Giants and Jets, it holds over 82,000 fans and is built for major events, with steep stands that keep the noise close to the pitch. It doesn't have the intimacy of some purpose-built soccer grounds, but when full, it can generate a brilliant atmosphere.

Facilities are modern, concourses are wide, and sightlines are excellent, typical of a stadium designed for American sport but more than capable of hosting a match of this scale. With France expected to travel in strong numbers and Senegal bringing a passionate following, it should make for a lively crowd.

How to Get to MetLife Stadium for This Match

MetLife Stadium sits in East Rutherford, New Jersey, just outside New York City, and most supporters will be traveling in from Manhattan. The simplest match-day option is the NJ Transit rail service from New York Penn Station to Secaucus Junction, where dedicated event trains run directly to Meadowlands Station, a short walk from the stadium. Trains get busy close to kick-off, so arriving early is wise.

Ride-share options are widely available, though drop-off zones can become congested as crowds build. Driving is possible, but parking must be booked in advance, and traffic around the stadium can be slow on event days. Many supporters opt for park-and-ride sites to avoid bottlenecks. The stadium is well signposted, and the walk from transport drop-off points is straightforward.

The heat and humidity can be intense, so carrying water and allowing extra time for security checks is sensible.

East Rutherford Fan Guide for Match Day

East Rutherford itself is relatively quiet, but MetLife Stadium is surrounded by enough bars, restaurants and open spaces to give some options on match day. The American Dream complex next door is the main gathering point, with plenty of food options and space for supporters to meet before heading into the ground.

Most France fans, though, are likely to base themselves in Manhattan, where pubs and fan zones will be busy throughout the tournament. Areas like Midtown, the East Village and the Financial District tend to attract traveling supporters, with easy rail links to the stadium. Senegal's following will also bring good vibes, adding to what should be a good-natured atmosphere.

The region is prepared for major events and handles them well, and the flow of supporters between hotels, bars and transport hubs is usually smooth. However, it is worth booking restaurants and other activities where possible, in order to avoid disappointment on the day.

Head-to-Head History: France vs Senegal

France and Senegal have met only a handful of times; the most significant, of course, came at the 2002 World Cup, when Senegal, playing in their first ever tournament, stunned the defending champions with a 1–0 win in Seoul. That result remains one of the World Cup's defining opening-match upsets and inevitably shapes the narrative whenever these sides meet.

In terms of the two sides' all-time record, the sample size is small, with Senegal holding the advantage thanks to that famous victory. The 2002 meeting is still the most memorable, not just for the scoreline but for how Senegal disrupted France's game and exposed their vulnerabilities on the counter. As they meet again on the World Cup stage, the historical backdrop adds an extra layer of intrigue: France will be looking to avoid any repeats of the past, while Senegal will be aiming to show that result wasn't an anomaly.
