Match Details
Chelsea vs. Tottenham Hotspur takes place on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Stamford Bridge. The kickoff time and broadcast details for this game are still to be confirmed by the Premier League.
Stamford Bridge
Stamford Bridge has been Chelsea's home since 1905, having originally opened in 1877 as an athletics venue used by the London Athletic Club. Based in Fulham, West London, Stamford Bridge holds 40,044 fans at full capacity, making it one of the more compact stadiums in the Premier League but also one of its most atmospheric on European and derby nights. You can really feel the history of the club as you approach the stadium. If you're traveling to the stadium from downtown London, it's incredibly easy to get to via public transportation. The best option is to take the District line to Fulham Broadway tube station, which sits right next to the stadium, making it one of the most convenient stadiums in the country to reach on game day.
Head-to-Head Record
Everyone knows that this is one of English soccer's biggest rivalries, with 181 meetings between the two sides. Of those 181 meetings, Chelsea has won 83 times compared to Tottenham's 55, while there have been 43 draws. Chelsea won the most recent meeting between the sides last season, so the expectation from most soccer fans will be that Xabi Alonso's side does the same again. However, a lot has happened since that game, with both clubs replacing their coaches and heading into this campaign in very different form. This will certainly be a good marker of where both sides are in terms of their progress.
Last Meeting: Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur (May 19, 2026)
The last meeting between the two sides was in May 2026 and it saw Chelsea pick up all three points in a hard-fought game at Stamford Bridge. Enzo Fernández gave the Blues the lead with a long-range strike before Andrey Santos doubled their advantage with his first Premier League goal. Richarlison pulled one back for Spurs late on to set up a tense finish, but Chelsea held on to move up to eighth in the table, while the result further compounded a miserable season for Tottenham, who would eventually stave off relegation on the final day. Spurs will hope their change of coach and huge influx of new signings will help turn the tide in their favor this season. However, after a poor start to the campaign in which they've lost to both Brentford and Newcastle United, Spurs fans will be wincing at the prospect of facing a Chelsea side that will be desperate to bounce back from its own heavy defeat at Brentford.
Chelsea 2026-2027 Season
Chelsea is undoubtedly a team in transition right now, but having spent big in the summer transfer window, its roster looks a lot healthier than it has in recent years. Signing the likes of Morgan Rogers, Danny Welbeck and Emiliano Martinez means the team now has plenty of Premier League experience, which is something the Blues have struggled with over the years. Often they have chosen to stockpile younger talents for profit later down the line, but that has consistently led to minimal success. With Xabi Alonso now at the wheel, it will be interesting to see whether this new approach can change the club's fortunes this season. Chelsea has had a mixed start to the campaign, with wins over Fulham and Brighton followed by a heavy defeat at Brentford, so this game against Tottenham will be the truest test of how far it has come this season.
Tottenham Hotspur 2026-2027 Season
Tottenham heads into the 2026-2027 campaign desperate to put the last two seasons firmly behind it. In Roberto De Zerbi, Spurs have appointed a coach capable of bringing them success, however, their start to the season has left a lot to be desired. The coach has been backed heavily in the summer transfer window and the Italian will be hoping this fresh blood can inject a bit of sharpness into his team. Heading into the season Spurs fans were optimistic about reaching the European spots, however after their poor start to the campaign, De Zerbi has his work cut out to lift the spirits of his struggling side. Having lost their last meeting against Chelsea, this could be a real chance for Spurs to show how much they have improved and lay down a marker for the rest of the season.
