Estádio Municipal de Famalicão guide
The Estádio Municipal de Famalicão is one of the smallest grounds in Portugal. The 5,186 seats are almost always sold out. That's where we come in, we've got you covered with tickets for every single FC Famalicão match. The stadium is divided in four sections, the South Stand, the North Stand, the East Stand and the West Stand.
South Stand
The South Stand is home of FC Famalicão's most vocal supporters. This is where the home ultras take seat. The stand is located behind one of the goals. The South Stand is known for the loudest atmosphere in the stadium. When you want to experience the real Portuguese football, you need to look for South Stand tickets. Whenever Famalicão play towards this goal, you will get the authentic FC Famalicão feeling.
North Stand
On the opposite site of the South Stand, you will find the North Stand. This stand is behind the other goal. This is also where the away fans take seat, in a corner of the North Stand. So if you're following your team to Famalicão, this is the place you need to look for. Don't forget to select the "away end" or away section when booking. The rest of the North Stand holds home fans. Especially during the big games, you will feel the tension and rivalry in the North Stand.
East Stand
Along the side of the pitch you will find the East Stand. This stand offers good sightlines across the whole pitch. The stand runs along the full length of the field. You get a clear view of the game from the side. The East Stand is a good pick for your first Famalicão match. It's a bit more about the view and a bit less about the noise. But you know for sure you will see everything.
West Stand
It won't be any surprise that this stand is on the opposite side of the East Stand. The West Stand is the main stand. It is located on the side of the dugouts, which gives you a little bit extra. You can hear the managers shouting and see the players warming-up from up close. This stand also holds the hospitality seats, so it's a bit more about the luxury and a bit less about the football atmosphere. But you know for sure you will have a great view.
Which stand should you choose?

Other information
Futebol Clube de Famalicão was founded on 21 August 1931 by six friends in Vila Nova de Famalicão. The club is nicknamed "os Famalicenses" and also "Azuis e Brancos", the Blue and Whites, and plays in blue and white. Famalicão are not one of Portugal's big clubs. The team spent years in the lower divisions and even dropped as far as the regional leagues in the 2000s. In 2018 the Quantum Pacific Group, led by Israeli businessman Idan Ofer, bought a majority share, and the same group also holds a stake in Atlético Madrid. The club won promotion back to the Primeira Liga in 2019 after 25 years away and has stayed in the top flight ever since.
Portuguese influences
FC Famalicão is of course a real Portuguese club, but what are the actual Portuguese influences at the moment? On the managerial front the club is led by Portuguese head coach Hugo Oliveira. On the pitch there is a Portuguese core too. Gustavo Sá, the captain, is a home-grown midfielder, and players like Rochinha, Gil Dias and Rafa Soares add Portuguese experience to the squad. These Portuguese players help lead the team and the next generation.

Rivalries
Main Rivals
Minho derby against Gil Vicente
FC Famalicão's main rivalry is with Gil Vicente, who come from Barcelos just down the road. Both clubs are from the Minho region in the north of Portugal, and the short distance between the two towns gives the fixture its edge. It is a regional derby rather than one of the headline games of the Portuguese season, but for the local fans it matters a lot.
Minor Rivalries
Braga
There is also a regional rivalry with Braga. The two towns are close together in the Minho region, so the games carry a bit of extra spice. Braga are the bigger club and play in Europe most years, so this is more about local pride than a balanced rivalry, but the meetings still draw a good crowd. Famalicão fans also enjoy the bigger days out when the likes of Porto and Benfica come to town.
