A pint of beer sets off a Saturday afternoon at a Premier League fixture just nicely. But just like the ticket prices, the price of a pint can vary from ground to ground and even within a club’s neighbourhood.
Whether you’re budgeting the big game day in advance or you’re already in town looking for a pub, it’s good to know what to expect. And so, Live Football Tickets got on the phone to local pubs around every Premier League stadium to ask the price of a pint.
We used the answers we got to highlight the cheapest pint at any of the five nearest pubs to each ground and the average price of a pint in each neighbourhood. Finally, we used wage data from the Office for National Statistics to find which club’s nearby pubs have the most affordable pints compared to local incomes.
Key Findings
- Manchester United and Nottingham Forest have the cheapest pints nearby, with a £1.99 beer available at one of the five nearest pubs to each ground.
- At Chelsea, the cheapest pint you’ll find locally is a £6.75 Grolsch — the most expensive ‘cheapest pint’ near any Premier League club.
- The average price of the cheapest pint in the pubs near Elland Road Stadium is just £3.99, making Leeds United’s neighbourhood the cheapest.
- The average price of the cheapest pint in the pubs near Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (£4.77) equates to 21.5% of the average local wage, so Spurs has the most affordable pints for locals.
Manchester United and Nottingham Forest Have the Cheapest Local Pints
First, we called the five closest pubs to each Premier League ground to find the cheapest local pint.
We found that you can get a pint of Bud Light for £1.99 near to the grounds of Manchester United and Nottingham Forest. United’s is at the Bishop Blaize, a three-minute walk from Old Trafford stadium. Forest’s is a similar distance from City Ground at the Trent Bridge Inn on the corner of Radcliffe Road.
If you’re a bitter drinker, you can get a pint for under £3 near Everton and Ipswich Town.
None of the Premier League’s six London clubs are in the top half of the cheapest pint table. Indeed, the four clubs at the bottom are all in the capital: Arsenal, Brentford, Fulham and Chelsea.
We didn’t find a pint for less than £6.75 at any of the five pubs closest to Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge home. For £6.75, you can get a pint of Grolsch at The Rose on Harwood Terrace, a half-mile walk towards the river.
The Average Cost of Beer is Lowest Near Leeds United and Everton
Next, we found the average price of the cheapest pint at the five nearest pubs to each Premier League ground.
Leeds United is cheapest, with an average cost of £3.99 for a pint. In fact, four of the five closest pubs to Elland Road that responded to our queries offer a pint for under £4, with a Fosters at The Old White Hart costing just £3.10. The average is dragged up by the Old Peacock directly opposite the ground, where the cheapest pint is a £5.60 Coors.
As with the cheapest single pints (above), the cost of the cheapest average pint is highest at four London clubs.
Local rivals Fulham and Chelsea are just a mile and a half apart. Although they don’t have any pubs in common among the five closest to each, drinks in the neighbourhood are priced consistently. None of the ten pubs sell a pint for under £6. The average price at Chelsea is £7.03, while Fulham’s is £6.81.
Spurs Has the Most Affordable Beers Compared to Local Incomes
To determine the affordability of a pint near each Premier League ground, we calculated the average price of the cheapest pint in each club’s neighbourhood as a percentage of the average hourly disposable income in each area. The lower the percentage, the more affordable the beer.
In this case, London clubs come out with the best deals, despite some of them having the most expensive pints. The cheapest pints near Fulham, Chelsea and Arsenal cost over £6 on average, but with disposable hourly income of up to £30 in these neighbourhoods, this gives an affordability of 25.3% or lower.
The area around Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has a lower average disposable income than these other London clubs. However, because the average cheapest pint at the pubs near the ground is just £4.77, Spurs boast the most affordable beers. The average pint costs just 21.5% of the average hourly disposable income.
The average cheapest pint near Hull City, Aston Villa and Newcastle United is significantly cheaper than those at the most expensive London clubs. However, the disposable income around these non-London clubs is around one third of that in the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, where Chelsea and Fulham’s stadiums are located. For Hull City, this means a £4.54 pint equates to 45.5% of an hour’s disposable income — making Hull the club with the least affordable pints for locals.

Methodology
We located the five pubs closest to each Premier League (‘26/’27 season) stadium using pubradar.co.uk. Then, we contacted each pub and asked for the price and brand of the cheapest pint. When a pub couldn’t be contacted, we replaced it with the next closest pub.
We then identified the cheapest pint near every stadium and calculated the average price of the cheapest pint at each club’s nearest five pubs.
To determine the affordability of these pints for locals, we calculated this “average cheapest pint” figure for each club as a percentage of the average hourly disposable income in each club’s local authority area, using data from the Office for National Statistics.
Data is correct as of August 2026.
