Address:
Reboleira, 2610-247 Amadora, Portugal
Description:
The Estádio José Gomes is the home of CF Estrela da Amadora. It sits in the Reboleira area of Amadora, just northwest of Lisbon, so it is also known informally as the Estádio da Reboleira. The ground is owned by the Câmara Municipal da Amadora, the local council. It holds 9,288 people, which makes it one of the smaller grounds in the Primeira Liga. The pitch measures 105 by 68 metres and is natural grass. The record attendance is 7,331, set on 18 May 2024 when Estrela beat Gil Vicente 1–0. It is a tight, old-school stadium and the crowd sits close to the pitch. That gives the place a proper atmosphere on a matchday. Some of those supporters can book their CF Estrela da Amadora tickets through our secure booking system.
Best way to travel to Estádio José Gomes
When you've booked your CF Estrela da Amadora tickets it's time to find out how you can get to the stadium. The club advises everybody to take public transport. These are the options you can use to get to the Stadium.
By Metro
The metro is the easiest way to get to the Estádio José Gomes. The ground is on the Blue Line (Linha Azul), which is the end of the line out of Lisbon. Reboleira is the closest station and a short walk from the stadium. Amadora Este is the stop just before it and also within walking distance. The Blue Line runs straight from the city centre, so you can reach the ground with no changes. Follow the fans off the metro and you won't get lost.
By Train
CP, the national rail company, also runs trains to Reboleira on the Sintra Line. The Reboleira station is shared by the metro and the train, so you can come in by either. Amadora station is one more option on the same line and a slightly longer walk. The trains link up with central Lisbon and stations like Rossio and Sete Rios.
By Bus
Several bus routes stop near the Estádio José Gomes around Amadora and Reboleira. The metro and train are the faster options on a matchday, but the buses cover much of the area and connect with the rail stations close to the ground.
By Car
The IC19 and the A37 run close to Amadora and link the town with Lisbon and Sintra. There is limited parking around the stadium and the streets are narrow, so space fills up fast on a matchday. The club recommends public transport.
By Bicycle
Cycling to the Estádio José Gomes is easier than you think. It is a quick and healthy way to make your journey and saves you a lot of money. On the bicycle you've got all the freedom you need. You can surpass traffic jams and avoid crowded public transport.
Estádio José Gomes guide
The Estádio José Gomes is one of the smallest grounds in Portugal. The 9,288 seats can sell out fast for the bigger games. That's where we come in, we've got you covered with tickets for every single CF Estrela da Amadora match. The stadium is divided in four sections, the South Stand, the North Stand, the East Stand and the West Stand.
South Stand
The South Stand is home of CF Estrela da Amadora's most vocal supporters. This is where the home ultras take seat. The stand is located behind one of the goals. The South Stand is known for the loudest atmosphere in the stadium. When you want to experience the real Portuguese football, you need to look for South Stand tickets. Whenever Estrela play towards this goal, you will get the authentic CF Estrela da Amadora feeling.
North Stand
On the opposite site of the South Stand, you will find the North Stand. This stand is behind the other goal. This is also where the away fans take seat, in a corner of the North Stand. So if you're following your team to the Estádio José Gomes, this is the place you need to look for. Don't forget to select the "away end" or away section when booking. The rest of the North Stand holds home fans. Especially during the big games, you will feel the tension and rivalry in the North Stand.
East Stand
Along the side of the pitch you will find the East Stand. This stand offers good sightlines across the whole pitch. The stand runs along the full length of the field. You get a clear view of the game from the side. The East Stand is a good pick for your first Estrela match. It's a bit more about the view and a bit less about the noise. But you know for sure you will see everything.
West Stand
It won't be any surprise that this stand is on the opposite side of the East Stand. The West Stand is the main stand. It is located on the side of the dugouts, which gives you a little bit extra. You can hear the managers shouting and see the players warming-up from up close. This stand also holds the hospitality seats, so it's a bit more about the comfort and a bit less about the football atmosphere. But you know for sure you will have a great view.
Which stand should you choose?
It's important to be able to make the best decision when booking your CF Estrela da Amadora tickets. That's why we've created this table with a quick comparison about all four stands. Check what's important to you and you will find the best stand for your wishes.

Other information
The current Club Football Estrela da Amadora was founded in the summer of 2020, after a merger between Clube Desportivo Estrela and Club Sintra Football. It is the successor of the original Clube de Futebol Estrela da Amadora, which was founded on 22 January 1932 in Amadora and closed down in 2011 because of financial problems. The club is based in Amadora, just northwest of Lisbon, and is nicknamed "os Tricolores" (the Tricolours), after its red, white and green colours. Estrela won promotion back to the Primeira Liga through the play-offs in 2023. In 2022 the club was bought by the Indonesian company Pakuan Football Enterprise. CF Estrela da Amadora finished 15th in the 2025–26 Primeira Liga and stayed up. It was a hard season with several coaching changes: João Nuno left in April 2026 and Cristiano Bacci, formerly of Tondela, took over.
Portuguese influences
CF Estrela da Amadora is of course a real Portuguese club, but what are the actual Portuguese influences at the moment? The squad is a real mix of nationalities, which is normal for a smaller Primeira Liga side. On the pitch there are home-grown Portuguese players like goalkeeper Diogo Pinto, defender Ni Rodrigues and midfielders Jorge Meireles and Paulo Moreira. The club's roots are firmly in Amadora and the youth set-up keeps feeding local players into the team. These Portuguese players help carry the identity of the club.

The Taça de Portugal win in 1989–90, when Estrela beat Farense 2–0 in the final, belongs to that historic club and is treasured by the supporters as part of the same story.
Rivalries
Minor Rivalries
Lisbon-area clubs
CF Estrela da Amadora do not have one single big rivalry like the giants do. As a club from the Amadora area on the edge of Lisbon, their matches against other clubs from the capital region carry a bit more local feeling. Games against the bigger Lisbon clubs, Benfica and Sporting CP, always draw a bigger crowd to the Estádio José Gomes, simply because those are the most supported clubs in the country and many of their fans live close by. The matches against fellow strugglers near the bottom of the table also matter a lot, because for a small club like Estrela every point can be the difference between staying up and going down.
