Club History
CF Estrela Amadora has a unique and fascinating history of revival. The original Clube de Futebol Estrela da Amadora was founded on January 22, 1932, and played in Portuguese football for decades before financial problems led to bankruptcy in 2011.
In 2020, the club was given a second life when Clube Desportivo Estrela merged with Club Sintra Football, taking the latter's place in the third-tier Campeonato de Portugal. This new entity was named Club Football Estrela da Amadora and adopted the iconic emblem and legacy of the original club.
The rebirth was remarkably successful. After promotion in their first season, the club achieved promotion to the Primeira Liga via the play-offs in 2022-23, returning to the top level of Portuguese football. In May 2022, the club was acquired by Indonesian company Pakuan Football Enterprise, led by Dodi Irwan Suparno, bringing international investment and ambitions.
