Description:
The Estádio Municipal de Arouca is the home of FC Arouca. It sits in the town of Arouca, in the Aveiro district of northern Portugal. The ground is owned by the local municipality. It was built in 2006, when Arouca were still playing in the Aveiro regional leagues. The stadium was renovated and expanded in July 2013, in time for Arouca's first season in the Primeira Liga. It holds 5,600 seats, which makes it one of the smallest grounds in the top flight. The pitch measures 105 by 68 metres and the surface is grass. The stadium is part of the Complexo Desportivo Municipal de Arouca and sits close to the centre of the town. Arouca lies in a rural, mountainous area, in the heart of the Arouca Geopark. Some of those supporters can book their FC Arouca tickets through our secure booking system.
Best way to travel to Estádio Municipal de Arouca
When you've booked your FC Arouca tickets it's time to find out how you can get to the stadium. Arouca is a small mountain town, so it's worth planning ahead. These are the options you can use to get to the Stadium.
By Car
Most fans reach Arouca by car. The town is rural and tucked into the mountains, so the car is the simplest way to get there. From Porto you take the A32 motorway, then follow the IC2 and the local roads into Arouca. The drive from Porto takes around an hour. There is parking around the Complexo Desportivo Municipal de Arouca, but space is limited on a matchday. Get there early and follow the signs for the stadium.
By Bus
There is no train line into Arouca, so the bus is the main public transport option. Regional bus services link Arouca with Porto and the surrounding towns of the Aveiro district. The bus station in Arouca is in the centre of the town, a short walk from the stadium. Check the timetables before you travel, the rural routes don't run as often as city buses.
By Bicycle

On the bicycle you've got all the freedom you need. You can surpass traffic jams and avoid crowded car parks. Keep in mind that Arouca is in the mountains, so the roads can be steep.
Estádio Municipal de Arouca guide
The Estádio Municipal de Arouca is one of the smallest stadiums in the Primeira Liga. The 5,600 seats fill up fast for the big games. That's where we come in, we've got you covered with tickets for every single FC Arouca match. The stadium is divided in four sections, the South Stand, the North Stand, the East Stand and the West Stand.
South Stand
The South Stand is home of FC Arouca's most vocal supporters. This is where the home fans make the most noise. The stand is located behind one of the goals. The South Stand is known for the loudest atmosphere in the stadium. When you want to experience the real Portuguese football, you need to look for South Stand tickets. Whenever Arouca play towards this goal, you will get the authentic FC Arouca feeling.
North Stand
On the opposite site of the South Stand, you will find the North Stand. This stand is behind the other goal. This is also where the away fans take seat, in a corner of the North Stand. So if you're following your team to Arouca, this is the place you need to look for. Don't forget to select the "away end" or away section when booking. The rest of the North Stand holds home fans. Especially during the big games, you will feel the tension and rivalry in the North Stand.
East Stand
Along the side of the pitch you will find the East Stand. This stand offers good sightlines across the whole pitch. The stand runs along the full length of the field. You get a clear view of the game from the side. The East Stand is a good pick for your first Arouca match. It's a bit more about the view and a bit less about the noise. But you know for sure you will see everything.
West Stand
It won't be any surprise that this stand is on the opposite side of the East Stand. The West Stand is the main stand. It is located on the side of the dugouts, which gives you a little bit extra. You can hear the managers shouting and see the players warming-up from up close. This stand also holds the hospitality areas, so it's a bit more about the comfort and a bit less about the football atmosphere. But you know for sure you will have a great view.
Which stand should you choose?
It's important to be able to make the best decision when booking your FC Arouca tickets. That's why we've created this table with a quick comparison about all four stands. Check what's important to you and you will find the best stand for your wishes.

Other information
Futebol Clube de Arouca was founded on 25 December 1951 in the town of Arouca, in the Aveiro district of northern Portugal. The club started life in the Aveiro regional leagues and spent its first five decades there. A run of promotions took Arouca up the divisions, and in 2013 the club reached the Primeira Liga for the first time in its history. Arouca are nicknamed "os Lobos" (the Wolves) and "os Arouquenses". Long-time captain David Simão left the club in January 2026 after four and a half seasons, with defender Tiago Esgaio taking on the captain's role. Vasco Seabra renewed his contract with the club until 2027, so he stays in charge for the 2026-2027 season.
Portuguese influences
FC Arouca is of course a real Portuguese club, but what are the actual Portuguese influences at the moment? On the managerial front the club is led by Portuguese head coach Vasco Seabra, who is into his third season at the club. Carlos Pinho is the president. These Portuguese players are leading the team and the next generation.

Rivalries
Main Rivals
FC Arouca are a small club from a rural town, so they don't have one single big rivalry like the giants of Portuguese football. There is no fierce, long-standing derby for the Wolves. Most of Arouca's history has been spent in the lower divisions, away from the headline fixtures. The closest thing to local rivals are the other clubs from the Aveiro district and the surrounding region, but these games don't carry the heat of a true derby.
The big tests
For Arouca fans, the biggest games of the season are the ones against the "Big Three". Matches against Porto, Benfica and Sporting CP are the ones that pack out the small Estádio Municipal de Arouca. These aren't rivalries in the classic sense, but they are the days the whole town turns up to watch the Wolves take on the best in the country.
