The Stade Olympique de la Pontaise has been Lausanne-Sport's home stadium for decades, until they moved to the Stade de la Tuilière in November 2020. The old ground was a huge open bowl that hosted matches at the 1954 World Cup, but by the end it was far too big and far too cold for a club of this size. The Tuilière is the opposite. It was designed by the Swiss practices mlzd and Sollberger Bögli, it seats 12,544 and the stands are pulled in tight around the pitch, which makes it a much better place to watch football. Best way to travel to Stade de la Tuilière

By Bus

Bus is the way most fans get to the Tuilière. Lines 1, 20 and 21 all run up from the middle of Lausanne to the stop Lausanne Blécherette, which is right opposite the ground. The 1 is the one you will most likely want if you are coming from the station side of the city. Services run more often on matchdays.

By Train

Lausanne is a main stop on the line along Lake Geneva, with direct trains from Geneva, Bern and Zürich, and the airport at Geneva is about 45 minutes away. From Lausanne station you take one of the buses up to Blécherette. Give yourself a little longer than the timetable suggests on a matchday, because the city gets busy.

By Car

If you come by car, leave the motorway at the exit Blécherette, which brings you out close to the ground. You can park at the Vélodrome car park, which is free on Sundays, or at the Migros in Romanel, where it costs a few francs and there is a shuttle to the stadium. Do not try to park on the Route de Romanel itself, because it is not allowed and it gets cleared.

By Bicycle

Cycling to the Stade de la Tuilière is easier than you think. It is a quick and healthy way to make your journey and saves you a lot of money. Be warned though, Lausanne is built on a hill and the stadium is at the top of it, so the ride up is real work and the ride home is the easy part. On the bicycle you've got all the freedom you need. FC Lausanne-Sport started life in 1896 under a different name, Montriond FC, after the district of the city where the first players came from. They took the name Lausanne-Sport later and went on to become one of the strongest clubs in the country, with seven championships and nine Swiss Cups. The supporters call them the Seigneurs de la nuit, the Lords of the Night. It has been a long wait for the next trophy, though. The last title came in 1965 and the last cup in 1999, and much of the time since has been spent going up and down between the divisions.

Lausanne-Sport is of course a real Swiss club, but what are the actual local influences at the moment? The ownership is not local at all. INEOS, the company of the British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, bought the club in 2017, and in 2025 the shareholding was put into a blind trust so that Lausanne could play in Europe at the same time as the group's other clubs. In the dugout is Luka Elsner, who took over in June 2026 after Peter Zeidler was let go in the spring.
