Stadium information
Name:
Stade Francis Le Blé
Capacity:
15,220
Address:
8 Rue de l'Île de Sein, 29200 Brest, France
Description:
The Stade Francis Le Blé is the home of Stade Brestois 29 and, with a capacity of 15,220, the largest stadium in the Finistère department of Brittany. It first opened in 1922 and was renamed in 1982 after Francis Le Blé, a former mayor of Brest. It is a compact ground with the stands set close to the pitch. After Brest finished third in Ligue 1 in 2023-24 and reached the Champions League, the stadium was found too small to meet UEFA criteria, so the club played its European home games at the Roudourou in Guingamp. A new stadium, Arkéa Park, has been approved for the years ahead. A lucky few of those supporters can book their Stade Brestois tickets through our secure booking system.
Best way to travel to the Stade Francis Le Blé
When you've booked your Stade Brestois tickets it's time to find out how you can get to the stadium. Brest's public transport is run by Bibus, which operates the tram and the buses, and the ground is well served on a matchday. These are the options you can use to get to the stadium.
By Tram
The tramway is the easiest way to the ground. Take line A to the Strasbourg stop at Place de Strasbourg, which is a short walk from the stadium and connects directly to the city centre.
By Bus
Bibus bus lines 17 and 19 stop right by the ground at the Stade F. Le Blé stop. Buses are a useful option if you are staying away from the tram line.
By Matchday Shuttle
On matchdays Bibus runs free shuttles to the stadium from the Océanopolis and Cavale Blanche park and ride sites, starting about an hour and twenty minutes before kickoff. The shuttles run again after the final whistle.
By Car
Parking next to the ground is very limited. The club advises drivers to use the park and ride sites at Porte de Gouesnou, Porte de Guipavas or Fort Montabrey, leave the car there and switch to the tram or the matchday shuttle.
By Bicycle
Secure bike parking is available near the stadium and can be reserved in advance through the Cyclope service. With the ground close to the centre, cycling is a quick way in and out.
Stade Francis Le Blé guide
The Stade Francis Le Blé has four stands set close to the pitch. Below is a guide to each part of the ground. Whichever match you are attending, we've got you covered with tickets for every Stade Brestois game.
Tribune Foucauld
The Tribune Foucauld is the main stand, running down one side of the pitch. It is covered and holds the best seats and the hospitality areas, with a clear view across the ground. It is the most comfortable place to sit.
Brittany Ferries stand
Opposite the Foucauld is the Brittany Ferries stand, the other long side of the ground. It is open to the elements, so take a coat in poor weather, but it gives a good side on view along the length of the pitch and is usually a more affordable seat.
Tribune Quimper
Behind the south goal is the Tribune Quimper, home to the Brest kop and the club's most vocal supporters. This is the loudest part of the ground, and the place to look if you want to be among the home crowd.
Visitors' section
Travelling fans are given a designated section of the ground, usually at the north end. If you're following your team to Brest, this is the area to look for, so make sure you pick the "away end" or away section when you book your tickets.
Which stand should you choose?
It's important to be able to make the best decision when booking your Stade Brestois tickets. That's why we've created this table with a quick comparison of the different areas of the ground. Check what's important to you and you will find the best stand for your wishes.
| Priority | Best Stand | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Best atmosphere | Tribune Quimper | Home to the Brest kop and the loudest support |
| Best view | Tribune Foucauld | Covered main stand with a clear view across the pitch |
| First time visitor | Tribune Foucauld | Covered main stand with good access |

Other information
Stade Brestois 29 was founded in 1950 through the merger of five local clubs, including Armoricaine de Brest, which dated back to 1903. The 29 in the name is the number of the Finistère department, at the western tip of Brittany, and the club is based in the naval port city of Brest. Stade Brestois play in red and white and are nicknamed Les Pirates and Les Ty'Zefs. The club is owned by the Le Saint family, with Denis Le Saint serving as president since 2016.
The rise of Les Pirates
For most of its history Stade Brestois was a modest club that moved between the divisions, but under Éric Roy it produced the best season in its history in 2023-24, finishing third in Ligue 1. That result took Brest into the Champions League for the first time, a remarkable step for a club of its size, and they reached the knockout stage of the competition before going out. The aim now is to stay an established Ligue 1 club and to move into the planned new stadium in the years ahead.
