Deutsche Bank Park
Capacity:
58,000
Address:
Mörfelder Landstraße 362, 60528 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Description:
The Deutsche Bank Park, also known as the Waldstadion by older Frankfurt supporters, has been the home of Eintracht Frankfurt since 1925. The stadium has been rebuilt and expanded several times over the decades. The current modern structure was completed in 2005. When the 2006 World Cup came to Germany, Frankfurt was one of the host cities and the stadium was upgraded to international standard. On 18 May 2022, the Deutsche Bank Park celebrated from a distance when Eintracht Frankfurt beat Rangers on penalties in the Europa League final in Seville, winning 5–4 after a 1–1 draw. The reception the team received when they returned home with the trophy was one of the biggest street parties Frankfurt had seen in years.
Best way to travel to Deutsche Bank Park
When you’ve booked your Eintracht Frankfurt tickets it’s time to find out how you can get to the stadium. The club advises everybody to take public transport. These are the options you can use to get to the Deutsche Bank Park.
By U-Bahn
The U3 is the most direct connection from Frankfurt city centre to the Deutsche Bank Park. Take the U3 from Konstablerwache or Hauptwache in the direction of Oberrad and get off at the “Stadion” stop. The journey from the city centre takes around 20 minutes. You will find the stadium immediately when you exit. On matchdays the U-Bahn runs at very high frequency and you will never wait long for a train. After the match, the platforms fill up quickly so expect to wait for one or two trains before boarding.
By S-Bahn
The S-Bahn lines S3, S4, S5 and S6 all stop at Frankfurt Stadion station, which is right next to the ground. If you are arriving from Frankfurt Airport, this is by far the most convenient option. Take any of these S-Bahn lines from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof and you will arrive at the stadium in around 12 minutes. Also this is a very reliable and fast connection that runs throughout the day and evening on matchdays.
By Bus
Several bus lines also serve the stadium area. On matchdays the city of Frankfurt runs extra bus services from multiple points in the city. Bus is a good option for fans staying in the south of Frankfurt who are not close to a U-Bahn or S-Bahn stop. Check the RMV app for the best route from your specific location to the Deutsche Bank Park.
By Bicycle
Cycling to the Deutsche Bank Park is a very good option. The stadium sits at the edge of a large forest park and there are excellent cycling paths leading directly to the ground. Frankfurt is a bike-friendly city and you will find designated cycle parking areas outside the stadium. On the bicycle you’ve got all the freedom you need. You can surpass traffic jams and avoid crowded public transport after the match.
Deutsche Bank Park guide
The Deutsche Bank Park is a large and impressive stadium with a capacity of 58,000. It is one of the bigger Bundesliga grounds and the atmosphere inside is always very strong. The stadium is divided into four stands: the Nordkurve, the Südkurve, the Haupttribüne and the Gegengerade.
Nordkurve (North Stand)
The Nordkurve is the heart of Eintracht Frankfurt’s matchday atmosphere. This is where the Ultras Frankfurt are based, and this is the place where every chant starts before it spreads across the whole stadium. The lower section of the Nordkurve is a large standing area and creates an intense wall of noise from the first minute. This is the place where the die-hard Frankfurt fans take seat. When you want to experience the real Eintracht Frankfurt, you need to look for Nordkurve tickets. Whenever Frankfurt play towards this goal, you will feel the Nordkurve pushing the team forward with everything they have.
Südkurve (South Stand)
On the opposite site of the Nordkurve, you will find the Südkurve. Also this stand has a strong home supporter presence. Away fans are placed in a section of the Südkurve, clearly separated from the home fans. Especially during the European nights at the Deutsche Bank Park, you will feel the contrast between the home sections and the away end very clearly from the Südkurve.
Haupttribüne (Main Stand / West)
Along one side of the pitch you will find the Haupttribüne. This is the main stand of the Deutsche Bank Park, with the press box, corporate hospitality and the best executive seating. For the premium experience you can take seat in the business class sections on the middle tier. In the Haupttribüne it’s a bit more about the luxury and a bit less about the football atmosphere. But you know for sure you will have the best view in the stadium. The Haupttribüne runs the full length of the pitch and every seat in this stand gives you a clear view of all the action.
Gegengerade (East Stand)
On the opposite site of the Haupttribüne, you will find the Gegengerade. Also this stand offers very good sightlines across the full width of the pitch. It is slightly more affordable than the Haupttribüne and still gives you an excellent side-on view of the game. The Gegengerade is a popular choice for neutral visitors and for fans who want a comfortable seat without being in the most intense sections of the stadium.
Which stand should you choose?
It’s important to be able to make the best decision when booking your Eintracht Frankfurt tickets. That’s why we’ve created this table with a quick comparison about all four stands. Check what’s important to you and you will find the best stand for your wishes.
| Priority | Best Stand | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Best atmosphere | Nordkurve Lower | Standing section, Ultras Frankfurt, loudest part of the ground |
| Best view | Haupttribüne Central | Perfect sightlines along the full length of the pitch |
| First-time visitor | Gegengerade or Haupttribüne Lower | Good view, comfortable, easy to navigate the stadium |
| Families with children | Haupttribüne Lower | Quieter, good facilities, comfortable seating throughout |
| Budget-conscious | Südkurve Upper or Nordkurve Upper | Good value with solid views and a strong atmosphere |
| Singing & standing | Nordkurve Lower | Expect to be on your feet for the full 90 minutes |
| See the players close | Haupttribüne Lower Central | Tunnel and touchline views, closest to the dugouts |
| Premium comfort | Haupttribüne Business Seats | Executive lounges, padded seating, catering included |

Club history
Eintracht Frankfurt was founded on 8 March 1899. The name “Eintracht” means unity in German, and it reflects the club’s roots as a broad sports organisation that brought together the community of Frankfurt. The eagle on the club’s badge is one of the most recognisable symbols in German football, and the nickname “Die Adler” (The Eagles) has been associated with the club for generations. Frankfurt won their only Bundesliga title back in 1959, but the club’s most celebrated moment in recent history came on 18 May 2022 in Seville. On that night, Eintracht Frankfurt beat Glasgow Rangers 5–4 on penalties after a 1–1 draw to win the UEFA Europa League for the first time. What made it even more remarkable was the travelling support: an estimated 150,000 Frankfurt fans made the journey to Seville, completely taking over the city in a way that had never been seen before at a European final.
German influences
Eintracht Frankfurt has always had a strong German core. Kevin Trapp, the German international goalkeeper, has been one of the most important players at the club for many years. Also Robin Koch, who joined from Leeds United, has become a central figure at the back. Not only is Trapp one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga, also his leadership and presence in the dressing room make him a key figure beyond just what he does on the pitch. The Frankfurt academy has also produced German talent over the years, and the connection to the region around Frankfurt is something the club takes seriously. You will find a number of players in the squad who come from the Hessen area or who grew up supporting Die Adler.

Rivalry with 1. FC Kaiserslautern
The rivalry between Eintracht Frankfurt and 1. FC Kaiserslautern is one of the most historically charged in German football. Both clubs have strong working-class fan bases and a long history in the Bundesliga. The fixture has always been intense, and although Kaiserslautern have spent long periods outside the top flight in recent years, the history between these two clubs is not forgotten by either set of supporters. The Hessen derby between Eintracht Frankfurt and SV Darmstadt 98 is the most local rivalry for Frankfurt fans. But whenever it does come around, you will find both sets of fans extremely motivated for what is a true regional derby.
Rivalry with Borussia Dortmund
The rivalry with Borussia Dortmund is less intense in terms of local feeling but has been very competitive in recent Bundesliga seasons. Both clubs have battled for European qualification on a regular basis, and the fixture at the Deutsche Bank Park always produces a strong atmosphere. Also the DFB-Pokal has produced memorable meetings between the two clubs over the years.
