This goal brought Germany their fourth World Cup trophy. Messi was still hunting for the first silverware with his country at that time.
2018 France versus Croatia
The World Cup 2018 final was a match between France and Croatia. The Croatian side managed to get to the final against all odds. 2022 Argentina versus France

Messi scored again in extra time, but Mbappé equalized once more with another penalty to complete his hat-trick and send the match to penalties. Argentina won the shootout 4-2, giving Messi his first World Cup and Argentina their third title after 36 years.
