Stadium Information
Name:
Craven Cottage
Capacity:
29,589
Address:
Stevenage Road, Fulham, London SW6 6HH, United Kingdom
Description:
Craven Cottage has been Fulham's home since 1896, making it one of the oldest grounds in English football. Tucked alongside Bishop's Park on the banks of the River Thames in south-west London, it is famous for its character: the Grade II-listed Johnny Haynes Stand, designed by the celebrated Scottish architect Archibald Leitch, and the small pavilion "cottage" in the corner of the ground, where players' families watch from the balcony. The recently completed redevelopment of the Riverside Stand has lifted the capacity to around 29,589 and added modern hospitality and a rooftop "Sky Deck," but the ground keeps the intimate, traditional feel that makes a matchday at the Cottage unlike anywhere else in the Premier League.
The Best Way to Travel to Craven Cottage
Once you've booked your Fulham tickets, it's time to figure out how to get to Craven Cottage in south-west London. The ground sits in a residential riverside area and is easiest to reach by public transport. Here are the best options for a matchday visit.
By Train / Underground
The closest station is Putney Bridge on the District Line, around a 15–20 minute walk from the ground. From there you can follow the route through Bishop's Park along the river to the stadium. Fulham Broadway and Hammersmith, both on the District Line, are also within walking distance (roughly 1.3–1.4 miles), while Putney mainline station is around 1.2 miles away and handy if you're travelling in from Waterloo or Clapham Junction.
By Car
For sat nav, use the postcode SW6 6HH. Be aware that this is a busy residential part of London, so parking is very limited; street parking near the ground is heavily restricted on matchdays, typically to short "pay & display" stays. Because of this, driving is not recommended and arriving by public transport is much easier. If you do drive, give yourself plenty of extra time.
By Bus
Several London bus routes stop near the ground, including the 74, 211, 220, 265, 414 and 430, which run along Fulham Palace Road, while the 85 and C4 serve Putney Bridge. From there it's a short walk to the stadium.
By Foot Along the River
Craven Cottage is one of the most enjoyable grounds in the country to walk to. The riverside path through Bishop's Park runs right up to the stadium, and the newly opened Thames-side walk now links Putney and Hammersmith past the ground, making the stroll along the water a matchday highlight in its own right.
By Bike
Cycling is a healthy way to reach the ground, and with the heavy matchday parking restrictions it can be quicker than driving. There are cycle parking stands near the stadium, and the riverside paths make for a pleasant ride in.
Craven Cottage Guide
Craven Cottage has four stands: the Johnny Haynes Stand, the Hammersmith End, the Putney End, and the Riverside Stand. It's a compact, old-fashioned ground that keeps the crowd close to the pitch, and a few of the stands still have the support pillars typical of a stadium of its age. Whatever match you're interested in, we have tickets for every Fulham game.
Hammersmith End
Behind one goal is the Hammersmith End, the home end and the most atmospheric part of the ground. It's where Fulham's most vocal supporters gather and, traditionally, the end the team attacks in the second half. If you want the full Fulham experience, this is where you want to be.
Johnny Haynes Stand
Running along one side is the Johnny Haynes Stand, the oldest stand at Craven Cottage and a Grade II-listed structure designed by Archibald Leitch. It's home to the club's main reception, ticket office, and store, and it's reserved for home fans. Charming as it is, a number of pillars at the front can obstruct the view, so it's worth checking the seat location before booking.
Riverside Stand
Along the opposite side, backing onto the Thames, is the redeveloped Riverside Stand, now the tallest stand at the ground. It houses the dugouts and the main TV camera position at pitch level, and its upper levels hold the stadium's premium hospitality, lounges, and the rooftop Sky Deck with views over the river. This is the spot for the best modern facilities and the highest, most central views in the ground.
Putney End
Behind the opposite goal is the single-tier Putney End, which is unusual in that it is shared between home and away supporters. Visiting fans are housed in the riverside corner of this stand, with the rest given over to home fans. As with the older parts of the ground, a few pillars can affect the view from some seats.
Which Stand Should You Choose?
It's important to be able to make the best decision when booking your Fulham tickets. That's why we created this table with a quick comparison of all four stands. Check what matters most to you and you'll find the stand that fits what you're after.
| Priority | Best Stand | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Best atmosphere | Hammersmith End | The home end, where Fulham's loudest fans gather |
| Best view | Riverside Stand (upper tier) | The tallest stand, with elevated, central views |
| First visit | Hammersmith End | The full, traditional Craven Cottage experience |
| Heritage / character | Johnny Haynes Stand | The Grade II-listed Archibald Leitch original |
| Premium / hospitality | Riverside Stand | Modern lounges, Sky Deck, and the best facilities |
| Visiting fans | Putney End | Craven Cottage's designated away section |

Other Information
Founded in 1879, Fulham are the oldest of London's established professional football clubs, and they have played at Craven Cottage since 1896. The Cottagers come into a new chapter after the end of Marco Silva's five-year spell, which ran from his summer 2026 departure back to the era that began in 2021: under the Portuguese, Fulham won the Championship in 2021/22 with 110 goals, re-established themselves as a settled Premier League side, set a club-record top-flight points tally, and reached their first-ever League Cup semi-final. With a redeveloped Craven Cottage and a strong core of players, the aim now is to keep building on that platform. Buy your Fulham tickets online now!
English influences
For one of London's oldest clubs, Fulham's English roots run deep. Their greatest names are English icons: George Cohen, the 1966 World Cup winner who spent his entire career at the Cottage, and Johnny Haynes, "the Maestro," an England great who has a stand named in his honour. The current squad carries that English thread through internationals such as Emile Smith Rowe, signed from Arsenal, and midfielder Harrison Reed, alongside academy product Ryan Sessegnon. In the dugout, the Cottagers' most recent English manager was Scott Parker, who won promotion before leaving in 2021, while Roy Hodgson is fondly remembered for guiding Fulham to the 2010 Europa League final.
Fulham Honours & Trophies
Fulham have never been one of England's trophy-laden clubs, and their honours come mostly from the lower divisions, but their history holds plenty of pride. They reached the 1975 FA Cup final and, most memorably of all, the 2010 Europa League final under Roy Hodgson – a remarkable run for a club of Fulham's size. Their roll of honour is made up of promotions and one European trophy.

3 (latest: 2021/22)
Third-Tier Titles (League One / Division Three):

Rivalries
Main Rivals
Chelsea
Fulham's fiercest rivalry is with Chelsea, their nearest top-flight neighbours and the headline fixture of the West London derby. The two clubs first met back in the 1890s, and while Chelsea have long been the bigger side, the meetings at Craven Cottage and Stamford Bridge are always among the most keenly anticipated games of Fulham's season.
Minor Rivalries
Queens Park Rangers
Fulham's other long-standing West London rivalry is with Queens Park Rangers, a club of similar size and history. The two first met in the 1890s and have shared many tightly contested derbies over the decades.
Brentford
More recently, the rivalry with neighbours Brentford has grown sharper, with both clubs now established in the Premier League. Their meetings – including Fulham's win over the Bees in the 2020 play-off final – carry a real edge.
