How the Portuguese League Cup works
Eight clubs qualify on the basis of the previous season's league tables: the top six from the Primeira Liga plus the champions and runners-up of Liga Portugal 2, with reserve teams excluded. The competition opens in late October with four single-leg quarter-finals, paired by league position and hosted by the higher-ranked club. The four winners go through to the final four, a short tournament staged at one neutral venue in early January, made up of two single-leg semi-finals and the final.

Seating categories
Category 1 seats are usually located along the sides of the pitch and offer the best all-round view of play. Category 2 and 3 seats sit behind the goals or higher in the stands, and are the more affordable option for supporters who want to be in the ground and part of the atmosphere. Availability per category depends entirely on what sellers list, and the final four venue operates its own layout, separate from the clubs' own grounds.
Booking with confidence
All sellers on our marketplace are verified before their listings go live, and your booking is covered from the moment you complete payment until your tickets are delivered. Frequently asked questions
Does the winner qualify for Europe?
No. Unlike the Portuguese Cup, this competition does not carry a European place. The reward is the trophy itself, decided before the turn of the year.
Can the holders defend the trophy?
Only if they qualify again through their league position. Because entry depends on the previous season's final standings, a winner who finishes outside the top six is not part of the next edition.
How will I receive my tickets?
Delivery method depends on the fixture and the seller, and can be electronic, mobile or collection near the stadium. Your confirmation email sets out the method that applies to your booking, along with the timeline.
Can I book seats together?
Listings state whether the seats are seated together. If you are booking for a group, filter for the quantity you need and check the listing details before completing your order.
