Superb! Easy to purchase a ticket. I had a live customer service chat once, the staff member was so polite, helpful and informative. I loved the communication after purchase. On the match day they contacted me on WhatsApp if I want an upgrade on my tickets for free and after my confirmation I got my tickets within a minute. Great experience, thank you.

This is the best and most trusted website to get your tickets to any world event. I have used them 3 times throughout the years, I have used other sites for football matches and they are so transparent and fast, the first time I used them was in 2018 for a Roma match and then made the mistake to use a different site for the PSG match in April and they were terrible, from the website, customer service and responses. this is the only site I trust and use!

Bought 2 Club Wembley tickets less than 48 hours before the Championship Play Off Final. Good communication and tickets arrived the following day by email. No problems getting into the stadium and seats were great. Unfortunately my team’s performance was the only let down. Would definitely use this company again.

Ligue 1 legends & stars

Ever since the French Championship turned professional, Ligue 1 has produced and attracted some amazing stars. The money that has poured into the league over the last fifteen years helped its clubs invest in better players. It would take us way too long to talk about every single star who has ever played in the league. But there are some exceptions we can't go without mentioning on this page. Delio Onnis is one of them; the Argentine striker is still to this day the all-time Ligue 1 goalscorer. With 299 goals, most of them for AS Monaco, he is way ahead of the competition. Jean-Pierre Papin, Michel Platini and Bernard Lacombe are a few of the Ligue 1 greats who lit up the league for their clubs. More recently, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappé carried that torch, with Mbappé becoming PSG's all-time top scorer and winning six consecutive Ligue 1 top-scorer awards before his move to Real Madrid. Currently there are also a lot of players who are an absolute joy to watch. These are a few of the Ligue 1 stars people want to see live with their own Ligue 1 tickets.

Current Ligue 1 Stars (2026-2027)

Ligue 1 continues to attract and develop the world's best talent. These are some of the players lighting up stadiums across France this season.

  • Ousmane Dembélé (Paris Saint-Germain): The 2025 Ballon d'Or winner. He was the heartbeat of the PSG side that won back-to-back Champions League titles and remains France's talisman.
  • Vitinha (Paris Saint-Germain): The Portuguese midfield metronome who runs the PSG engine room. He was named Man of the Match in the 2026 Champions League final.
  • Bradley Barcola (Paris Saint-Germain): PSG's top Ligue 1 scorer in 2025-2026. The lightning-quick French winger is one of the most dangerous attackers in the league.
  • Désiré Doué (Paris Saint-Germain): Still only in his early twenties, the French forward announced himself on the biggest stage and is already one of Europe's brightest talents.
  • Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Paris Saint-Germain): The Georgian magician on the wing, a defender's nightmare on his day.
  • Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain): The Moroccan right-back is among the very best in the world in his position and was crowned African Footballer of the Year.
  • Esteban Lepaul (Rennes): The breakout story of 2025-2026, finishing as Ligue 1's top scorer with 21 goals.
  • Mason Greenwood (Olympique de Marseille): A joint Ligue 1 top scorer the season before, the English forward has been tipped by his own coach as a future Ballon d'Or contender.
  • Maghnes Akliouche (AS Monaco): One of the most exciting young French playmakers around, and a key creative spark for Monaco.
  • Warren Zaïre-Emery (Paris Saint-Germain): A product of the PSG academy who has been a first-team regular and France international since his teens.

The French Giants: Ligue 1's Biggest Clubs

Unlike England's “Big Six”, France's hierarchy is topped by one super-club, Paris Saint-Germain, with a historic chasing pack behind them. The clubs with the biggest history and stature are the ones who attract the most fans, and we see it in our ticket sales as well. These sides have been a dominant force in French and European football.

Who Are the French Giants?

Paris Saint-Germain: The most successful club in French football, with a record 14 league titles. PSG were transformed after the 2011 Qatari takeover and reached the summit of Europe by winning back-to-back Champions Leagues in 2025 and 2026 under Luis Enrique. Parc des Princes (47,929) is one of the most iconic grounds in Europe.

Olympique de Marseille: The most decorated of PSG's rivals and the only French club to win the Champions League, lifting the trophy in 1993. OM have nine league titles and play at the Orange Vélodrome (67,394), the largest club stadium in France and one of the loudest atmospheres in the game.

Olympique Lyon: The dominant force of the 2000s, when Lyon won seven Ligue 1 titles in a row between 2002 and 2008. Based at the modern Groupama Stadium (59,186), Les Gones remain one of France's biggest clubs and a regular European competitor.

AS Monaco: Eight-time French champions and 2004 Champions League finalists, Monaco are famous for developing world-class talent before selling them on. The compact Stade Louis II in the Principality is unlike any other ground in the league.

Lille: The northern club who memorably broke PSG's grip on the title in 2020-2021. Four-time champions and six-time Coupe de France winners, Lille play at the impressive retractable-roof Decathlon Arena, the Stade Pierre-Mauroy (50,186).

RC Lens: Champions of France in 1998 and 2026 Coupe de France winners, Lens boast one of the most passionate fanbases in Europe. When Stade Bollaert-Delelis is rocking, there isn't a side in the world that takes the three points home easily.

Why Do the French Giants Matter?

Financial Dominance

These clubs generate the highest revenues in French football through matchday income, broadcasting deals, commercial partnerships, and global merchandise sales. Paris Saint-Germain in particular have the financial muscle to attract some of the world's best players and managers, which is a big reason behind their domestic dominance.

The European Race

For a long time, finishing in the Champions League places has been the season's main objective for the biggest clubs. France is currently allotted four Champions League berths via the league, occasionally rising to five thanks to a strong UEFA coefficient. The clubs just below them fight for the Europa League and Conference League spots, so the battle for Europe runs right to the final weekend.

Historic Rivalries

There are many exciting derbies and rivalries in Ligue 1. Especially among the giants, there are a few heated battles. In this list we take you along those rivalries:

  • Le Classique: Paris Saint-Germain vs Olympique de Marseille
  • Le Derby du Nord: Lille vs RC Lens
  • L'Olympico: Olympique Lyon vs Olympique de Marseille
  • Le Derby de la Côte d'Azur: Nice vs AS Monaco

French Giants Head-to-Head: All-Time Honours

Club Ligue 1 Titles Champions League Coupe de France Last Ligue 1 Title
Paris Saint-Germain 14 2 16 2026
Olympique de Marseille 9 1 10 2010
AS Monaco 8 0 5 2017
Olympique Lyon 7 0 5 2008
Lille 4 0 6 2021
RC Lens 1 0 1 1998

Paris Saint-Germain have won 11 of the last 13 Ligue 1 titles. The only clubs to interrupt their dominance in that period were Monaco (2016-2017) and Lille (2020-2021). PSG also hold the record for the most Coupe de France triumphs with 16, while Marseille remain the only French side to have lifted the European Cup, back in 1993.

The Challengers

It doesn't happen often that the giants also form the top six. There are always a few of them underperforming, while some other clubs are doing really well. Some of these challengers are:

Nice: Backed by the INEOS ownership, Les Aiglons have established themselves as regular European contenders and reached the 2026 Coupe de France final at the Allianz Riviera.

RC Strasbourg: Part of a multi-club ownership group, Strasbourg have built one of the youngest, most exciting squads in France and pushed for Europe from the Stade de la Meinau.

Stade Brestois: The fairytale story of recent seasons. From the modest Stade Francis-Le Blé (15,220), Brest punched massively above their weight to qualify for the Champions League, something that seemed unthinkable a few years ago.

Rennes: A well-run club with a strong academy and a loud Roazhon Park, Rennes are regular European qualifiers and home to some of the league's brightest attacking talent.

History

Professional football in France was launched at the end of the 1931-1932 season, with the first championship, then called Division 1, kicking off in 1932-1933. The idea was to bring professionalism and more money into the French game so its clubs could compete with the best in Europe. The competition was renamed Ligue 1 in 2002 as part of a wider rebrand of French football. Over the years the league has carried several title sponsors: it became Ligue 1 Conforama, then Ligue 1 Uber Eats from 2020 to 2024, and from the 2024-2025 season it has been known as Ligue 1 McDonald's. The league is organised by the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) and, since 2023, has been contested by 18 clubs over a 34-match season, down from the 20 teams that competed for decades.

Ligue 1 wins and trophies

Defending Ligue 1 champions are Paris Saint-Germain, who secured a record-extending 14th French title in 2025-2026 under Luis Enrique, their fifth in a row, an unprecedented run in the club's history. Saint-Étienne (10) and Marseille (9) are next on the all-time list of French champions. Cheap and premium football tickets for Ligue 1 are available to buy now at LiveFootballTickets.com. In the table below you will find the most successful clubs since the French Championship began in 1932.

Team No. titles Most recent title
Paris Saint-Germain 14 2026
Saint-Étienne 10 1981
Marseille 9 2010
Monaco 8 2017

Champions League qualification

The top finishers in the final Ligue 1 table qualify for next season's Champions League. France is currently allotted four Champions League places, and a strong UEFA coefficient can earn a fifth in some seasons. In 2025-2026 the league sent Paris Saint-Germain, RC Lens, Lille and Lyon into the Champions League, with Marseille and Rennes heading to the Europa League and Monaco to the Conference League. The clubs finishing outside the qualifying places can still reach Europe by winning the Coupe de France or progressing through continental competition. Reaching the Champions League is basically a must for the biggest French clubs, and the battle for those places is a very exciting one until the end of the season. Book your Ligue 1 tickets securely online and support your team in their battle for Europe.

Relegation

The battle for Europe isn't the only exciting battle in Ligue 1. The tension is probably even higher at the bottom of the table. The two clubs with the fewest points at the end of every season are relegated automatically to Ligue 2, while the team finishing 16th faces a nerve-shredding promotion/relegation play-off against a side from the division below. Relegation is the biggest fear for every club in Ligue 1. Although there are some teams which are highly unlikely to go down, nobody is truly safe in this competition. At the end of 2025-2026, Nantes and Metz dropped down, while Troyes and Le Mans came up from Ligue 2. Teams in fear of relegation can use all the support you can give them, so watch your favourite side live at the stadium. You really will enjoy the true French football atmosphere.

Stadiums

Ligue 1 has everything a real football fan is looking for. You can watch a match in some of the most modern stadiums in Europe. The Groupama Stadium in Lyon and the retractable-roof Decathlon Arena in Lille are two high-tech grounds. The other side of the spectrum is also on offer: the Vélodrome in Marseille and Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens are old-school cauldrons of noise that deliver an experience like nowhere else. Football fans from all over the world visit Ligue 1's best stadiums and tell us every ground is a completely different experience. Follow their lead and we are sure you will agree with them. French supporters create an atmosphere, with their tifos, flags and constant singing, that you will never forget!

Ligue 1's Greatest Managers

From Luis Enrique's back-to-back Champions League triumphs at Paris Saint-Germain to Guy Roux's legendary four decades in charge of Auxerre, Robert Herbin's all-conquering Saint-Étienne side of the 1970s and the early Monaco years of a young Arsène Wenger, Ligue 1 has been shaped by some of the game's greatest coaches.
