Yaya Toure Escapes Action from the FA

The FA has announced that Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure will not face further action for an off-the-ball incident during last Saturday's match against Norwich City. The Ivory Coast star was seen kicking out at Dutchman Van Wolfswinkel during the 0-0 draw at Carrow Road. Three members of the FA's disciplinary panel viewed video evidence of the incident, but they couldn't reach a unanimous verdict on whether or not the act constituted violent conduct.Toure has been one of City's key players this season with 24 appearances so far, and the news that he won't face action means he will be available for selection by Manuel Pellegrini for Wednesday night's home tie with Sunderland. The news is likely to annoy Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, as he earlier stated the Toure should face action for a clear act of violent conduct. Had City's mercurial midfielder been suspended by the FA panel, he would have missed crucial league games against Sunderland and Stoke, as well as an FA Cup match with Chelsea. However, Cardiff City's Craig Bellamy was not so lucky, as he was found guilty of striking Jonathan De Guzman during a recent tie with Welsh rivals Swansea City. He will now face a three-match ban.Buy your Capital Cup Final tickets safely and securely right here.
