Track TicketsEngland won a place in the World Cup that will take place in Brazil next year by fighting hard for a victory against Poland in the final qualifying round. Gerrard and Rooney scored the two goals that sent England to Brazil after a confrontation at Wembley with the Polish team. Rooney's goal was his 38th goal for England and the 9th time that he has scored in 10 games, confirming his status as a key player for the team as they head into another major competition. Poland were supported by approximately 20,000 fans who contributed to the vibrant atmosphere at Wembley. Lewandowski was given chances to equalise before Gerrard scored the second goal for England two minutes before the game was set to end. The win has guaranteed England automatic qualification as the winners of Group H. After the great game took place, Hodgson was heard commenting, "I am greatly satisfied with our win today. Group H was a tough group this year. Both Poland an Montenegro have proven to be great opponents to play, both on home turf and at away matches. Some sensational football was played in the first half, and we certainly dug our heels in during the second to control Poland's play." "We have been working together for a year and a half now. We're continually getting better and the way that we play together has changed. The players work well as a team because they really do trust each other." England finished their campaign for the 2014 Brazil World Cup with an unbeaten string of games leaving them a point clear. Ukraine's massive 8-0 win against San Marino was in vain and Poland was left behind with 9 points behind the top three. World Cup Final tickets and 2014 World Cup tickets can both be purchased now that the final 8 teams have been confirmed.
