Capital One Cup Final: Bradford City 0-5 Swansea City

Swansea City ran rampant with a convincing win at Wembley to take home the Capital One Cup, their first major silverware in the club's 101 year history. Michael Laudrup's side finished 5-0 winners over League Two team, Bradford City. Bradford won the 1911 FA Cup Final, and this was their first appearance in a major cup final since then, beating Premier League teams Arsenal, Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic to get there, but they didn't have it in them to beat their final Premier League opponents.

Nathan Dyer put The Swans ahead in the 16th minute, and Spanish striker Michu scored five minutes before half time. Swansea were controlling the game and Bradford quickly looked out of their depth. Dyer claimed his second goal two minutes after the restart, prompting Laudrup to punch his fist in the air, certain that his team had put the game beyond the reach of Bradford.

Bradford goalkeeper Matt Duke received a red card in the build up to Swansea's fourth goal, bringing down De Guzman as he tried to go round the grounded keeper. The referee had no choice but to send Duke off. Fans were then treated to the spectacle of Nathan Dyer arguing with designated penalty taker De Guzman about who was going to take the penalty. Dyer, keen to get his hat-trick, was eventually told by Laudrup, via Michu, to stand aside and let the Dutchman take it. De Guzman kept his cool and put the ball past substitute keeper Jon McLaughlin to ensure a fine finish to an historic day.
