Man City 2-0 Fulham

Two goals from David Silva, either side of half-time, ensured Manchester City closed the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester United. City went one up after just 95 seconds, when Edin Dzeko unleashed a 25 yard shot which Fulham keeper Mark Schwarzer saved, but the rebound found it's way to Silva who guided the ball into the bottom corner. Martin Jol's side kept their heads up though, and found themselves with a lot of possession as City failed to capitalise on their one goal lead. With twenty minutes left, Silva grabbed his second of the game. Gael Clichy and Carlos Tevez traded some clever passes to release Silva, whose run towards goal ended with a chip over Schwarzer. Fulham couldn't mount a response and were lucky to only concede two, Dzeko missing a sitter from six yards out.

Tottenham 1-1 Man Utd

Manchester United were robbed of three points after Clint Dempsey scored in the final minute of injury time to equalise and earn Spurs a point. It meant United could not restore their seven point lead over rivals Manchester City in the league table. Robin van Persie put United ahead in the 25th minute, taking his total for the season to 22. Rooney was brought down in the area by Caulker on the hour mark, but referee Chris Foy didn't point to the spot. Tottenham didn't give up though, Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale going closest for the home side. De Gea pulled off some fine saves to keep United in the lead, but when Assou-Ekotto crossed and the United keeper failed to punch it clear, Lennon collected it and crossed it in for Dempsey to bundle it over the line. United will feel cheated but Spurs deserved the point.
