Manchester United Fixtures August 2026

23 July 2026 at 14:03

August 2026 is one of the busiest months of the year for Manchester United supporters. Six matches in 30 days take the squad from Stockholm to Gothenburg, Dublin and Wrocław before the Premier League season opens away at Hull City and the Old Trafford gates swing open against Ipswich Town.

Below is the full schedule, venue by venue, along with what each fixture means for anyone planning to travel. Every match listed here is covered on our Manchester United tickets page.

Manchester United fixtures in August 2026

The pre-season tour in full

Manchester United v Atlético Madrid — 1 August, Solna

The tour opens in Sweden against Atlético Madrid at the Strawberry Arena just outside Stockholm. It is a serious first test: Atlético are one of the most physically demanding sides in La Liga, and a 15:00 kick-off gives supporters travelling from the UK a realistic day-trip window from Stockholm Arlanda.

The arena sits on a direct commuter rail line from Stockholm Central to Solna Station, which puts it roughly fifteen minutes from the city centre.

Manchester United v Paris Saint-Germain — 8 August, Gothenburg

A week later United stay in Sweden for the standout friendly of the summer. Ullevi in Gothenburg is the largest stadium in Scandinavia and has a long history of hosting European finals, which makes it a fitting stage for a meeting with Paris Saint-Germain.

Gothenburg is comfortably reachable by train from Stockholm in around three hours, so supporters attending both Swedish fixtures often build a single trip around the pair rather than flying twice. Tickets for the Gothenburg meeting are listed on our Manchester United v PSG page.

Manchester United v Leeds United — 12 August, Dublin

The Roses rivalry moves to Croke Park. A midweek 20:30 kick-off in Dublin, in front of one of the largest crowds either club will play in front of all summer, is the closest thing pre-season offers to a genuine competitive atmosphere — and it doubles as an early look at Leeds United before the sides meet again at Elland Road in October.

Croke Park is a twenty-minute walk from Dublin's city centre and short-hop flights from Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool make this the most accessible tour fixture for UK-based supporters. See availability on our Manchester United v Leeds United page.

Manchester United v AC Milan — 15 August, Wrocław

The tour closes in Poland against AC Milan at the Tarczyński Arena, one week before the league campaign begins. Expect a stronger starting eleven than in the earlier friendlies as the manager settles on a shape for the opening weeks.

Wrocław's airport is around fifteen minutes from the stadium by taxi, and the city is well served by budget carriers from several UK airports.

Premier League: the opening two fixtures

Hull City v Manchester United — 22 August, MKM Stadium

United begin the league season on the road against newly promoted Hull City. The MKM Stadium is one of the smaller grounds on the calendar, which makes the away allocation correspondingly tight — this is traditionally one of the harder tickets of the opening month for travelling supporters.

Hull is straightforward to reach by rail from Manchester with a change at Leeds or Doncaster, and the ground is walkable from Hull Paragon Interchange in about fifteen minutes. Check current availability for Hull City v Manchester United.

Manchester United v Ipswich Town — 30 August, Old Trafford

The first home league fixture of the season lands on Sunday 30 August with a 17:30 kick-off against Ipswich Town. Old Trafford's opening day carries its own weight regardless of the opposition: new signings are introduced, and the atmosphere in the closing weekend of August tends to set the tone for the autumn.

A 17:30 Sunday start is comfortable for supporters travelling into Manchester by rail, with the Metrolink running directly to Old Trafford from the city centre. Seats for the home opener are listed on our Manchester United v Ipswich Town page.

Planning your trip

A few practical points worth noting before you book:

  • Friendlies move. Pre-season fixtures are the most likely on the calendar to shift in date, kick-off time or even venue. Confirm details before booking non-refundable travel.
  • Premier League dates shift too. Both league fixtures in August are subject to television rescheduling, which is usually confirmed several weeks in advance.
  • Away allocations are limited. For Hull away in particular, demand consistently outstrips supply.
  • Four countries in four weeks. If you are following the tour, check passport validity and entry requirements for Sweden, Ireland and Poland well ahead of time.

Manchester United tickets

Tickets for Manchester United's August 2026 programme — the pre-season friendlies in Sweden, Ireland and Poland, plus both Premier League openers — are listed on LiveFootballTickets. Availability across the tour tends to be strongest in the weeks immediately after fixtures are announced, while the Old Trafford opener against Ipswich Town moves fastest in the final fortnight before kick-off.

Every order is covered by our 150% money-back guarantee. If this is your first booking with us, our how it works page explains the process from checkout to ticket delivery.

Very good experience and very good tickets. Only comment is that comms around what tickets, what’s included and where to go could be clearer - but fairly easy to work out. Would certainly recommend and will definitely use again - thank you.

We cannot say enough positive things about our experience with LiveFootballTickets. From the moment we purchased our football tickets, their customer service was absolutely outstanding. They were professional, responsive, helpful, and genuinely committed to making sure we had an exceptional experience. We traveled all the way from Texas specifically to attend a match in Manchester, making it a very special trip for us. The tickets were absolutely amazing, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. What stood out most, however, was the way we were treated as customers. Every interaction made us feel valued and well taken care of. This was much more than simply purchasing football tickets—it was an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. The company played an important part in making a very special trip into a lifetime memory for us. We would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone looking for football tickets and a truly exceptional level of customer service. It is clear that they care about their customers and take great pride in providing an outstanding experience. Thank you for helping make our trip so unforgettable. We are incredibly grateful and will absolutely use your company again in the future!
