Arsenal and Manchester City set up blockbuster EFL Cup Final

The Premier League's top two will meet at Wembley on March 22 after Arsenal and Manchester City both progressed to the EFL Cup Final. The Gunners edged past Chelsea with a late Kai Havertz goal, while City demolished Newcastle United with Tijjani Reijnders and Omar Marmoush among the scorers.

EFL Cup Final tickets are now available for what promises to be one of the matches of the season.

Manchester City 3-1 Newcastle United (Agg: 5-1)

Manchester City cruised into the EFL Cup Final with a comfortable victory over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium, winning 5-1 on aggregate.

Holding a 2-0 lead from the first leg, Pep Guardiola's side wasted no time in killing the tie. Omar Marmoush, starting in place of Erling Haaland, opened the scoring inside ten minutes. The Egyptian appeared to have overrun the ball, but Dan Burn's attempted tackle deflected off Marmoush and into the net.

Marmoush doubled his tally shortly after, pouncing on a poor clearance from Kieran Trippier to make it 2-0 on the night. The former Eintracht Frankfurt striker continues to impress since his January move to Manchester.

Tijjani Reijnders then got in on the act with a fine finish. Antoine Semenyo cut inside and laid the ball off to the Dutch midfielder, who stroked it into the corner for 3-0. Nathan Aké also started the match for City, while Sven Botman featured for Newcastle.

Anthony Elanga pulled one back for the Magpies in the second half with a curling effort into the far corner, but it was mere consolation. City march on to Wembley in search of a record-extending fifth consecutive League Cup triumph.

Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea (Agg: 4-2)

Arsenal secured their place in the EFL Cup Final with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over London rivals Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.

Having won the first leg 3-2 at Stamford Bridge, the Gunners knew a draw would be enough. What followed was a tense, cagey affair with few clear-cut chances for either side.

The first half was particularly forgettable, with more fouls committed than touches in either penalty area. Chelsea pushed for the goals they needed to turn the tie around, but Arsenal's defence held firm.

Just when it seemed the match would end goalless, Kai Havertz produced a moment of magic deep into stoppage time. The German broke clear in the 97th minute, rounded goalkeeper Robert Sánchez and slotted into an empty net to seal Arsenal's passage to Wembley.

Jurriën Timber played the full 90 minutes for Arsenal, while Jorrel Hato featured for the first hour for Chelsea before being substituted.

The victory means Arsenal remain on course for an unprecedented quadruple. Mikel Arteta's side lead the Premier League, won all their matches in the Champions League group phase, and are still in the FA Cup.
