Sesko's late winner seals third straight Carrick victory

Manchester United continued their remarkable revival under interim manager Michael Carrick with a dramatic 3-2 win over Fulham, while Manchester City's title hopes suffered a blow after throwing away a two-goal lead at Tottenham.

Manchester United 3-2 Fulham: Sesko completes stunning turnaround

Manchester United secured a third consecutive victory under Michael Carrick after Benjamin Sesko scored a stoppage-time winner to break Fulham hearts at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils appeared to be cruising to victory after Casemiro headed home in the first half and Matheus Cunha fired into the near corner after the break to make it 2-0.

But Fulham fought back. Raúl Jiménez converted from the penalty spot to give the visitors hope, and Kevin curled a stunning equaliser into the far corner in the first minute of stoppage time. Old Trafford fell silent as a two-goal lead had evaporated.

However, there was still time for one final twist. Substitute Sesko collected the ball inside the penalty area, turned his marker and fired home to send the home crowd into raptures. The Slovenian striker's composure in the box secured all three points in dramatic fashion.

The victory extends United's winning run under Carrick to three matches, following impressive victories over Manchester City and Arsenal. The Red Devils have climbed to fourth place in the Premier League since Rúben Amorim's departure earlier this year.

Tottenham 2-2 Manchester City: Solanke scorpion kick denies City

Manchester City squandered a two-goal lead at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and now trail Arsenal by six points in the title race.

Pep Guardiola's side took full advantage of sloppy Spurs defending in the first half. Yves Bissouma lost possession on his own half, allowing Rayan Cherki to shoot from distance. The effort took a fortunate deflection and found the net for 1-0.

City doubled their lead after another error, this time from Archie Gray, who gifted the ball straight to Rodri. The Spaniard fed Bernardo Silva, who teed up Antoine Semenyo for a clinical finish.

Tottenham emerged a different side after the break. Marc Guéhi turned the ball into his own net to halve the deficit, before Dominic Solanke produced the moment of the weekend.

The England striker met a cross with an audacious scorpion kick, flicking the ball past Gianluigi Donnarumma and into the net. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium erupted as Spurs completed a remarkable comeback.

Both teams pushed for a winner in the closing stages but had to settle for a point. For City, the dropped points represent a significant blow to their title aspirations.

Micky van de Ven missed the match through injury, while Xavi Simons started for Spurs. Tijjani Reijnders came off the bench for City in the 70th minute, with Nathan Aké remaining an unused substitute.

Aston Villa 0-1 Brentford: Bees sting ten-man Villa

Aston Villa suffered a disappointing home defeat against Brentford, who claimed all three points despite playing the majority of the match with ten men following Kevin Schade's red card.

The result at Villa Park is a setback for Unai Emery's side as they look to maintain their challenge for European places.

Nottingham Forest 1-1 Crystal Palace: Honours even in red card affair

Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace shared the points at the City Ground in a match that saw Forest reduced to ten men for the entire second half.
