Bayern unbeaten, Mbappe Equals Ronaldo, Yamal takes revenge
The final matchday of 2025 delivered spectacular action across Europe's top leagues. Bayern Munich finish the year as unbeaten leaders, Kylian Mbappé equals a legendary Cristiano Ronaldo club record, and Lamine Yamal makes Villarreal pay for a nasty tackle.
Bayern Munich: Unbeaten Autumn Champions
Vincent Kompany can look back on 2025 with a broad smile. Bayern Munich crushed relegation candidates FC Heidenheim 4-0 to finish the first half of the season as unbeaten Bundesliga leaders.
Josip Stanisic opened the scoring after fifteen minutes, poking home after former Ajax goalkeeper Diant Ramaj had initially cleared a Jonathan Tah header off the line. Michael Olise doubled the lead in the 32nd minute, before Luis Diaz made it 3-0 after the break. Top scorer Harry Kane rounded off the victory in stoppage time to make it 4-0.
Der Rekordmeister dominated possession, at times reaching over 75 percent. Bayern's only Bundesliga defeat this calendar year? A home loss to bottom club VfL Bochum back in March, a team that has since been relegated.

Real Madrid: Birthday Boy Mbappé Equals Ronaldo
Kylian Mbappé celebrated his 27th birthday in the best possible way. With a penalty in the 86th minute against Sevilla (2-0 win), the Frenchman scored his 59th goal of the year, equalling Cristiano Ronaldo's club record from 2013.
The record clearly wasn't lost on Mbappé. After converting the spot-kick, he performed Ronaldo's iconic celebration: a pirouette followed by his trademark pose with arms stretched wide. His teammates visibly loved it.
Jude Bellingham had earlier put Real ahead with a towering header, while Sevilla were reduced to ten men in the 68th minute after Marcão received a second yellow card.
After painful defeats to Celta de Vigo and Manchester City earlier this month, Real Madrid end the year on a positive note. Experience the Mbappé show live at the Santiago Bernabéu with Real Madrid tickets.
FC Barcelona: Yamal's Sweet Revenge
Lamine Yamal once again proved why he's one of the most exciting talents in world football. After a disgraceful tackle from Renato Veiga, who scythed him down from behind and received a straight red card, Yamal took spectacular revenge.
With mesmerizing dribbles, he tormented the ten-man home side throughout. Raphinha opened the scoring from the penalty spot after winning the foul himself, but it was Yamal who scored the winning goal to make it 0-2, silencing the hostile crowd that had booed him. His celebration? A symbolic whistle with two fingers in his mouth.
Raphinha also had a point to prove. After being snubbed from the FIFA Team of the Year, the Brazilian responded with a goal and a thunderous shot that rattled the crossbar.
Barcelona remain top of La Liga. Watch Yamal, Raphinha and the rest of Flick's star-studded squad live with FC Barcelona tickets.
As the winter break approaches, Europe's top clubs can reflect on an eventful 2025. The new year promises even more drama in the battle for domestic glory.
