Arsenal stays in title race with Man City

Arsenal continued their impressive season in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United at St James' Park on Saturday evening. Goals from Martin Ødegaard and an own goal from Fabian Schär helped Arsenal maintain their push for a possible Premier League title.

Martin Ødegaard scores again

The home team started the game on the front foot. A penalty call for Newcastle got cancelled by VAR. A few minutes later things got worse for Newcastle when Ødegaard broke the deadlock in the 14th minute. The Norwegian international scored with a well-placed shot past Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope. The assist for the goal came from Jorginho, who played a perfectly weighted pass to Ødegaard. This goal was the start of a more dominant period from Arsenal.

Own goal deciding factor

Newcastle tried to respond to Arsenal's early goal, but their efforts were thwarted by Arsenal's defense and the goal post. Both goalkeepers showed their worth with some amazing saves from both Pope and Ramsdale. It was a tight match from two very strong teams. Arsenal's second goal came in the 71st minute when Fabian Schär inadvertently put the ball in the back of his own net when trying to clear a ball from Martinelli.

Title race is still on

The win takes Arsenal to 81 points from 35 matches, one point behind league leaders Manchester City, who have played one game less. Newcastle, meanwhile, remain in third place with 65 points from 34 matches. Manchester City faces relegation side Everton next weekend, while Arsenal plays against a very strong Brighton and Hove Albion. All four teams have something to play for, so your Arsenal tickets and Manchester City tickets will give you an amazing experience!
