England goes off to a great start in Group B at World Cup

The World Cup always got the attention by everybody involved in football. This year the tournament gets a little bit more attention because of the timing and location. In Great Britain the focus is mainly on Group B. Both contenders from Great Britain are drawn into this group. The group that contains England, Wales, Iran and United States is a very interesting group.

England off to a flying start

Gareth Southgate has been the point of discussion in England for quite some time now. People don’t get why he brings Maguire to Qatar and feel Southgate got his favourites. The likes of Maguire, Mount and Sterling always play for England. Even when they are out of form and better options seem available. Southgate clearly doesn’t listen and decided to start all three players mentioned. The saying “the winning manager is always right” really helps him a lot. England got really off to a flying start in the match against Iran. Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling gave the English team a 3-0 lead before halftime. Goals by Saka, Jack Grealish and Marcus Rashford doubled their goal total. Mehdi Taremi got 2 goals back for Iran. A 6-2 win for England is an amazing start of the group.

Wales and United States are next

Later today we’ve got the battle between Wales and USA. A very important match, since one of these two teams can draw level with England. Even more important, the winning team puts both competitors for the second spot on 3 points. Gareth Bale and Christian Pulisic are the two players everybody expects big things from.
