Manchester United gets great point against Chelsea

After seeing Manchester City beating West Ham United earlier on the day, Chelsea knew they needed to beat Manchester United to keep the gap of three points with the second placed Man City. Manchester United started this match on the 9th place and is between managers. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer got sacked, and the new appointed interim manager Ralf Ragnick, got just announced today. Therefore this match against Chelsea came at the wrong time, but also at the right time, since there wasn’t any pressure on United for this match.

Poor first half

The first wasn’t one that many people will remember in a few years’ time. Chelsea was the better team, but they failed to net any of their chances. Manchester United just tried to prevent Chelsea from playing football and hoped to get anything on the counter. They didn’t have many chances on the counter in the first half, while the Chelsea attackers fail to put the ball in the back of the net. All ingredients for a poor half of football.

Jorginho man of the match

The second half was only a few minutes underway, while Bruno Fernandes kicked the ball high up in the air when defending a corner. Chelsea midfielder Jorginho mistimed this ball and gave it to Jadon Sancho. Sancho had the chance to run all the way from the halfway line to Chelsea’s goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. Often you see players miss chances like this, since the long run gives them all the time to think about what to do. Jadon Sancho stayed calm and put the ball in the back of the net. Almost 20 minutes later, Aaron Wan-Bissaka tried to kick the ball away from his penalty box, instead of the ball he kicked Thiago Silva. The referee gave Chelsea a penalty, Who else than Jorginho stepped up to take it. The Italian was responsible for the 0-1 and now netted the penalty to draw levels. The penalty was the final goal in this match.
