Arsenal host Atlético Madrid at the Emirates Stadium in the semi-finals of the Champions League. It is the first time Arsenal have reached the last four of European football's premier club competition, and one of the most anticipated nights in the club's history.
Arsenal progressed from the quarter-finals with a 1-0 aggregate win over Sporting Lisbon, with Kai Havertz's stoppage-time goal in Portugal proving decisive. A disciplined 0-0 at the Emirates in the second leg was enough to see Mikel Arteta's side through. They enter the semi-finals as joint-favourites to win the tournament outright, having kept a clean sheet in eight of their nine Champions League matches this season.
Atlético Madrid arrive in London as dangerous and battle-hardened opponents. Diego Simeone's side eliminated FC Barcelona in the quarter-finals, winning 2-0 at the Camp Nou before surviving a spirited Barcelona fightback in the return at the Metropolitano, where Ademola Lookman's counter-attack goal settled the tie 3-2 on aggregate. Atlético are in the semi-finals for the first time in nine years and will bring a vociferous travelling support to north London.
The second leg takes place at the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid. The winners face either PSG or Bayern Munich in the Champions League final in Budapest.
