How the promotion final works
The National League champions go up automatically. The clubs finishing second to seventh enter the play-offs, starting with eliminators between fourth and seventh and between fifth and sixth. The winners face the second and third-placed clubs in the semi-finals, with the higher finisher hosting each tie. The two semi-final winners then meet at Wembley Stadium in the promotion final, also known as the play-off final, and the winner takes the second and last promotion place into League Two. If the score is level after ninety minutes, extra time and, if needed, penalties decide it.
