Atletico Madrid win La Liga title after 18 years

Atletico Madrid were crowned La Liga champions last Saturday after coming from a goal down to draw 1-1 against Barcelona at Camp Nou.

Diego Godin’s second half header cancelled out Alexis Sanchez’s wonder-strike opener allowing Atletico to record the point they needed to remain on top and win their first league title since 1996.

Diego Simeone’s men suffered the loss of Diego Costa and Arda Turan through injury inside 22 minutes and things got even worse when Alexis Sanchez scored for Barcelona in the 34th.

But Atletico regrouped and emerged after the break to level the score through Diego Godin’s header following a corner from the right flank.

Despite Messi having a goal correctly rouled out for offside in the 64th minute, Barcelona never looked dangerous enough to break Atletico’s defensive display for the remaining of the match.

At the end, Barcelona fans gave Atletico a deserved standing ovation for being the best team of the season.

    All staffs from the main entrance to Centre Circle were incredibly friendly. The mighty facility kept being clean and guidance was well-thought and easy to follow. Notably, the experience at Centre Circle was memorable and the one in lifetime. Chicken wing and pasta were the one that I regretted not having second meals. One remark, it has nothing to do with the stadium and game, but it would have been useful for foreign fans if you could state the traffic jam around stadium as I took a bus of 297 from Ealing Broadway and got stuck. It took me two hours to reach, so I missed two hours to spend wonderful time at Centre Circle.

    The seats were excellent. I sat beside one of Kenny Dalglishes Golfing Partners met some old friends had a blast with my compatriots, had great craic with the bar staff. All in a really memorable visit even although we didnt win
