Elsewhere on Sunday, Wigan Athletic shocked Manchester City for the second time in 2 seasons as they beat Manuel Pellegrini’s side by 1-2 at the Etihad Stadium.

Having already defeated the Citizens in last year’s FA Cup final, the Lactics made it again this year as goals by Jordi Gomez and James Perch were enough to send the Championship outfit into Wembley semi-finals despite Samir Nasri pulling a goal back for Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Hull City also secured a place in the FA Cup semi-finals after a convincing 3-0 victory over Sunderland at the KC Stadium.

Second-half goals from Curtis Davies, David Meyler and Matty Fryatt gave the Tigers the ticket to Wembley where they will face Sheffield United.

The League One club earned the semi-final spot with a 2-0 win over Charlton Athletic following goals by Ryan Flynn and John Brayford.

Arsenal has been paired with Wigan in the other semi-final. The matches will be played at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 of April.
