Manchester City go top while relegating Burnley

The Premier League title race has been turned on its head. Manchester City are now top of the table for the first time this season after beating Burnley 1-0, while Arsenal's collapse continued with defeat to Bournemouth. Chelsea's season hit rock bottom with a fifth consecutive defeat – all without scoring – and Burnley's relegation was confirmed. It has been a week of drama, despair and Dutch dominance.

Manchester City go TOP after Burnley win

Manchester City completed their remarkable comeback in the title race with a 1-0 victory at Burnley on Wednesday night.

Erling Haaland, who also scored the winner against Arsenal on Sunday, needed just five minutes to settle this one. Jérémy Doku played him through and the Norwegian lifted a delicate finish over the goalkeeper – his 24th Premier League goal of the season, cementing his position as the league's top scorer.

Burnley, with Zian Flemming leading the line and Quilindschy Hartman at left-back, tried to respond but never truly threatened. Their relegation to the Championship is now confirmed.

Tijjani Reijnders and Nathan Aké remained on the bench throughout for City.

Manchester City are now top of the Premier League. They are level on points and goal difference with Arsenal, but ahead on goals scored. Five matches remain.

Title race: The dramatic turnaround

Pos Team P Pts GD GF
1 Manchester City 33 70 TOP (goals scored)
2 Arsenal 33 70 Level on GD

Just three weeks ago, Arsenal led by nine points. Now they are second. The "bottlers" narrative has returned with a vengeance.

Arsenal's collapse: Five defeats from six

Arsenal's title challenge is unravelling at the worst possible time. Their 1-2 home defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday was their fifth loss in six domestic matches.

Without the injured Jurriën Timber, Arsenal looked vulnerable. Eli Junior Kroupi gave Bournemouth an early lead before Viktor Gyökeres equalised from the penalty spot. But Alex Scott's 74th-minute winner sent the Emirates Stadium into stunned silence.

Then came Sunday's showdown at the Etihad – the match that could have sealed the title. Instead, Rayan Cherki's stunning solo goal and Erling Haaland's winner condemned Arsenal to a 2-1 defeat. Kai Havertz had equalised after a Gianluigi Donnarumma howler, but it wasn't enough.

Manager Mikel Arteta insisted: "The confidence is not affected. Everything is still possible." But with City now ahead and Arsenal facing an Atlético Madrid Champions League semi-final, the pressure is immense.

Chelsea's nightmare: Five defeats, zero goals

Chelsea's Champions League hopes are all but over after a humiliating 3-0 defeat at Brighton.

It was a night to forget at the Amex Stadium – and a night to remember for Dutch football fans. Brighton fielded five players with Eredivisie backgrounds in their defence: Bart Verbruggen, Mats Wieffer, Jan Paul van Hecke, Olivier Boscagli and Ferdi Kadioglu.

Kadioglu opened the scoring after just three minutes from a corner. Chelsea, with Jorrel Hato in their lineup, never recovered. Robert Sánchez was kept busy all evening as Brighton ran riot.

This was Chelsea's fifth consecutive defeat – and remarkably, they have failed to score in any of them:

  • Newcastle 1-0 Chelsea
  • Everton 3-0 Chelsea
  • Manchester City 3-0 Chelsea
  • Chelsea 0-1 Manchester United
  • Brighton 3-0 Chelsea

Since their 4-1 victory at Aston Villa in early March, Chelsea have collapsed. Their Champions League ambitions are in tatters.

Liverpool win Merseyside derby in 100th minute

Liverpool secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Everton thanks to a Virgil van Dijk header deep into stoppage time.

Mohamed Salah had given Liverpool the lead, with Cody Gakpo providing the assist. Beto equalised for Everton, and it looked like the points would be shared.

But with 11 minutes of added time played, Van Dijk rose to meet a corner and powered a header into the net. The 100th-minute winner sparked wild celebrations at Anfield.

Liverpool now lead Chelsea by seven points in the race for fifth place, with five matches remaining.

Tottenham still in trouble

Tottenham's relegation fears continue. A 2-2 draw with Brighton – despite a brilliant Xavi Simons goal and assist – left them in 18th place.

Simons had put Spurs 2-1 up with a stunning curling effort, ripping off his shirt in celebration. But Georginio Rutter's 90th-minute equaliser broke Tottenham hearts again.

With Micky van de Ven in the starting lineup, Spurs remain one point behind West Ham with one game more played. Time is running out.

Burnley relegated

Wednesday's defeat to Manchester City confirmed Burnley's relegation to the Championship. Despite the efforts of Zian Flemming and Quilindschy Hartman, the drop was inevitable.

Great experience!! Bought 4 tickets for Man City and palace as part of my son’s Christmas (not cheap and travelling from Glasgow )got an email at the start of the year and thought here we go this is a scam! Contacted them via email and got an email back within 24 hours, very helpful. Game had to be postponed and I was kept up to date via email what was going on, 1 week before the game got an update to say the tickets would be with me 24 hours prior. The day before the game I got a wats app from nick explaining how to download the tickets and where to go etc! On the day of the game I go another message with nick to advise he was on site at Man City football ground an if we needed any help give him a call. No call was needed as everything was straight forward, couldn’t recommend them enough was an absolute great service with the team going over and above to help!

Tickets came on time with clear instructions. Everything went well on match day except for the bag size restrictions which we didn’t realise until the bag check. Otherwise it was a great experience with great seats and access to lounge :)

Great seat at Anfield. Seamless entry. I’ve used LFT several times and they are great. Coming from the USA to watch EPL is not cheap and you need a ticket provider that 100% can provide valid tickets.
