Harry Kane reaches scoring milestone at Bayern win

Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga on Saturday with a 3-2 win over St. Pauli, thanks in large part to a milestone performance from Harry Kane. The English striker scored once and assisted twice, completing his personal mission to score against every club he’s faced in the German top flight.

Kane completes Bundesliga checklist

Having joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, Kane has made an immediate impact in Germany. He finished his debut season with 36 goals, yet one club had still eluded him on the scoresheet: St. Pauli. That changed just 17 minutes into the match, when Kane smashed home the opening goal after capitalizing on sloppy possession play by the visitors. Michael Olise pounced on the error and teed up Kane for a clinical finish. With this goal, Kane has now scored against every Bundesliga opponent he’s faced. Only German legend Miroslav Klose has scored against more Bundesliga clubs (28) than the 31-year-old England international.

Kane’s influence beyond the scoresheet

St. Pauli responded well and managed to draw level at 1-1, but Kane continued to make his presence felt beyond just finishing. The striker played a key role in Bayern’s second goal, setting up Leroy Sané to restore the lead. He later delivered another assist, calmly laying the ball off for Sané again to make it 3-1. Although St. Pauli pulled one back in stoppage time with a long-range strike from Lars Ritzka, it wasn’t enough to deny Bayern the win.

With this victory, Bayern Munich maintains a six-point advantage over second-placed Bayer Leverkusen. As the title race heats up, Vincent Kompany’s squad continues to demonstrate consistency and firepower, led by Kane’s remarkable form.
