Last World Cup groups have started

The World Cup tournament saw its biggest upset in the history of World Cup football just two day ago. Saudi Arabia managed to beat one of the favourites Argentina with 2-1 after being 1-0 down early in the match. Yesterday Japan repeated this by beating Germany yesterday. With two big upsets, country like Portugal and Brazil were warned for their opening games. The World Cup continues and fans can still book their World Cup tickets via our website. In this article we will discuss the two last groups to start their 2022 World Cup journey.

Group G

The day started and ended with Group G. We started with a match between Switzerland and Cameroon. This was a very special match for one particular player. Cameroon born Breel Embolo, moved early in his life via France to end up in Switzerland. He started playing for Switzerland’s national football team and played against his birth today. In the 48th minute, Embolo scored the only goal of the match. A happy day for him with no doubt a bitter taste.

The last day of the match was between Brazil and Serbia. Brazil is the clear favourite for the title, but the first half was still a bit nervous. In the second half Richarlison scored two great goals to give Brazil a 2-0 victory. A great start which will fill the team with even more confidence.

Group H

The last group of this World Cup started with the battle between Uruguay and South Korea. Two countries which will try to finish in second place behind Portugal. They didn’t do themselves a favour in a boring 0-0 game. This game didn’t even saw a shot on target, so there isn’t much to say about it. The second match in this group was between Ghana and Portugal. After a goalless first half Portugal got help by the referee who gave them a penalty. The VAR forgot to intervene and Ronaldo scored the 1-0. This was the start of some very interesting football. Ayew drew level for Ghana, before Portugal got two goals. In extra time Ghana scored the 3-2 and got a huge opportunity for another equaliser. They missed that one and Portugal got away with a 3-2 victory.
