55 players in provisional World Cup squad for England

It’s only a few days till November starts, the month where the 2022 World Cup football finally will kick-off. Even though it’s getting closer and closer, the most players are still playing Premier League football at the moment. Still three more league rounds and 2 more European rounds will be played before the 2022 World Cup finally starts. That players are thinking about this huge tournament was proven last weekend. When French international Raphael Varane left the pitch injured and crying. He saw his dream of playing the World Cup being shattered during his match for Manchester United.

Some England players will be pretty confident they will make it to the tournament, but there’s still a lot to play for. 55 players made it to Southgate’s list for the World Cup. Unfortunately the list hasn’t been publiced, but we decided to discuss a few players who are making a claim for themselves to be on the plain to Qatar in a few weeks.

James Maddison

The attacking midfielder plays for Leicester City. The club which struggled during the beginning of this campaign, looks to be in form at the right time. Maddison scored 4 goals in the last five Premier League games he played. He really shows he wants to go to the World Cup. Now is the big question if it’s enough for him to be selected by Southgate.

Ben White

Arsenal’s defender hasn’t been part of the England squad. But he’s really showing himself. He’s been playing centre back and right wing back for the Premier League leaders and he’s doing really well in both positions. Considering the injury crisis on the right wingback position. His versatality can be a very important factor in his dream.
