Laporte cost Manchester City vital points

With the 3pm kick-off being back as it was back in the days with loads of games, this weekend it was a very exciting one. A game that should always lead to a victory for the Cityzens, but history proved Manchester City can struggle against this team.

Laporte failure

John Stones played a vital role in Manchester City’s title win last season. Together with Ruben Dias, he formed the best centre back duo last season. Now Laporte is completely fit again, Pep Guardiola picks him over Stones. A decision that cost them the game against Crystal Palace. Laporte made an error which led to the 0-1 by Wilfried Zaha early in the match. Just before half-time he made his second mistake by taken Zaha down, which led to a sending off. Manchester City was forced to play the whole second with ten men and one goal down.

Lively second half

Even they were one man down, Manchester City tried to get an equaliser. It looked like Riyad Mahrez scored the equaliser, but his assister Phil Foden was offside. So the goal got cancelled. Late in the game Conor Callagher doubled the lead for Crystal Palace, getting the three points secured.

An amazing result for Patrick Vieira’s team. For Manchester City it was a terrible day, especially since they saw Premier League leader Chelsea winning their match and extend their lead to five points over Chelsea.
