Potential decisive international break for England

The international break is back! The Premier League couldn’t end on a bigger high then it did yesterday. Liverpool and Manchester City spoiled football fans all over the world with a very exciting battle. With four goals scored in the second half both title contenders took a point. The 2-2 draw shows we’re in for a great title fight this season, with Liverpool and Manchester City, but also with Chelsea and possibly Manchester United as well. Die-hard Premier League fans will be sad they need to wait two weeks before the league is back. But for fans of the English national team, this is going to be a very exciting week.

Two interesting games upcoming

The English national team is in the middle of the World Cup qualification. The 2022 World Cup tournament which will take place in the winter of 2022 in Qatar. They face Andorra and Hungary during the next two weeks. The Three Lions are currently 4 points ahead of Albania in Group I of the qualification tournament. Albania plays against Hungary and Poland in the same week. After this break there are only two more matches to play for each country. So, when England can increase the gap with Albania to a minimum of 6 points, they will qualify for the World Cup 2022 tournament. Which would be an amazing achievement with two more games to go.

Familiar squad

There aren’t many surprising names in the England squad. Fikayo Tomori has been rewarded for impressive performances in high-pressure games for AC Milan. Tomori and Trippier are the only two players in the squad who don’t play in the Premier League at the moment. Harry Kane will be the captain of the team, even though he doesn’t look in the best form of his life at Tottenham Hotspur.
