Match Details
Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur takes place on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Stamford Bridge. The kick-off time and UK broadcast details for this fixture are still to be confirmed by the Premier League.
Stamford Bridge
Stamford Bridge has been Chelsea's home ground since 1905, having originally opened in 1877 as an athletics venue used by the London Athletic Club. Based in Fulham, West London, Stamford Bridge holds 40,044 fans at full capacity, making it one of the more compact grounds in the Premier League but also one of its most atmospheric on European and derby nights. You can really feel the history of the club as you approach the ground. If you're travelling to the stadium from central London, it's incredibly easy to get to via public transport. The best option is to take the District line to Fulham Broadway tube station, which sits right next to the stadium, making it one of the most convenient grounds in the country to reach on matchday.
Head-to-Head Record
Everyone knows that this is one of English football's biggest rivalries, with 181 meetings between the two sides. Of those 181 meetings, Chelsea have won 83 times compared to Tottenham's 55, while there have been 43 draws. Chelsea won the most recent meeting between the sides last season, so the expectation from most football supporters will be that Xabi Alonso's side does the same again. However, a lot has happened since that game, with both sides replacing their managers and heading into this campaign in very different form. This will certainly be a good marker of where both sides are at in terms of their progress.
Last Meeting: Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur (May 19, 2026)
The last meeting between the two sides was in May 2026 and it saw Chelsea pick up all three points in a hard-fought match at Stamford Bridge. Enzo Fernández gave the Blues the lead with a long-range strike before Andrey Santos doubled their advantage with his first Premier League goal. Richarlison pulled one back for Spurs late on to set up a tense finish, but Chelsea held on to move up to eighth in the table, while the result further compounded a miserable season for Tottenham, who would go on to change manager again before eventually staving off relegation on the final day. Spurs will hope their change of manager and huge influx of new signings will help turn the tide in their favour this season. However, after a poor start to the campaign in which they've lost to both Brentford and Newcastle United, Spurs fans will be wincing at the prospect of facing one of the form sides in the country.
Chelsea 2026-2027 Season
Chelsea are undoubtedly a team in transition currently, but having spent big in the summer transfer window, their squad looks a lot healthier than it has in recent years. Signing the likes of Morgan Rogers, Danny Welbeck, and Emiliano Martinez, means their team now has plenty of Premier League experience, which is something the Blues have struggled with over the years. Often they have chosen to stockpile younger talents for profit later down the line, but that has consistently led to minimal success. With Xabi Alonso now at the wheel, it will be interesting to see whether this new approach can change their fortunes this campaign. Chelsea have started well in their opening games, but this game against Tottenham will be the truest test on how far they've come this season.
Tottenham Hotspur 2026-2027 Season
Tottenham head into the 2026-2027 campaign desperate to put the last two seasons firmly behind them. In Roberto De Zerbi, Spurs have appointed a manager capable of bringing them success, however, their first two games of the season have left a lot to be desired. The manager has been backed heavily in the summer transfer window and the Italian will be hoping this fresh blood can inject a bit of sharpness into his side. Heading into the season Spurs fans were optimistic of reaching the European spots, however after their poor start to the campaign, De Zerbi has his work cut out to lift the spirits of his struggling side. Having lost their last meeting against Chelsea, this could be a real chance for Spurs to show how much they have improved and lay a marker down for the rest of the season.
