Karlsruhe is not only one of Baden-Württemberg most famous cities and an inspiration for Washington, D.C.'s layout but also a football crazy place. Karlsruher SC's, founded in 1894, performances in Bundesliga and other national tournaments provide impetus for local supporters for buying Karlsruhe football tickets. After a spate of dismal run when the club was relegated to 3 Bundesliga, they seem to be showing an improving trend and are currently playing in 2 Bundesliga. In past Karlsruhe's home team has won two DFB-Pokal titles along with a North Baden Trophy recently in 2013. Their home ground Wildparkstadion is a relatively smaller venue in comparison to other illustrious stadia of Germany and has a current capacity of about 14,000. Wildparkstadion is also the place where football matches in Karlsruhe are mostly played. It was opened to the football lovers back in 1955 and have undergone several development programs ever since.
